5 Reasons that people buy your product/service 1. Price (Best Deal) 2. Selection (People buy from places where offer a wide range of selections) 3. Qualify (If your products/services are sustainable) 4. Convenience (People tend to buy things without much hustle and waiting) 5. Personalization (You want products/services just for you and you only)

I have spent the last 5 years developing the best jobs and service imaginable, by doing what you talk about here; charging more because I want to provide the best. And, my customers love me for it! I try to tell my other yard work buddies on other KZfaq Channels that they should charge more, because they seem to really want to do more, but...

Price is one indicator why I buy--but I also look at quality because if a product or service has that quality, I'm willing to pay more; depends on how much I want it; cheap is not always the reason to buy. Recommendations from others who enjoy a product or service is something I consider (Amazon, anyone?). Great video, Dan!

It just occurred to me that Sophisticated and Affluent buyers do buy, in part, based on price. When they hear your quote, and it is too low, they know you don't play at their level. They know you are not capable of providing the kind of service they want. Some Affluent buyers will only buy from you if you are the most expensive. In this situation, the price is more important to them than the product or service. The price is a status symbol to them, in many cases. I want these people to buy from me, based on price, so I always tell people when I bid their yardwork that we are the most expensive yardwork service in town. And, if you find anyone charging more, would you do me a favor and tell us, so we can raise our prices? Honestly, they end up eating that up! Odd but pleasant discovery.

My pro tip to all of you guys is this. If someone out there judges you for your specific shopping habits or cost saving habits or the car you drive or watch that you wear etc, dump those people immediately. Unless you're a dummy, you likely do what you do for specific well-thought out reasons - reinvesting into your business etc. Other people can derail you quite easily into their own bad habits. Success is hard and requires a lot of sacrifices. If you're still starting out or if you don't have substantial assets to fall back on, stick to your plan and surround yourself with people who are pursuing success; not superficial junk. As you deal with higher-end clientèle, resist adopting their expensive habits. You are not them. They may be in huge debt when they put on the "dog and pony show" that they're letting you see. Just keep these things in mind and stick to your own plan no matter what!

Actually, as odd as it may sound, my Yardmastering Service(TM) takes advantage of all 5: 1. We promote based on being the highest priced yardwork in town. 2. Every other company in town focuses on competition based on price (common in simple service fields like yardwork). So, in the area of selection, we are the only game in town. If you want the best, we're your company! 3. Offering the best quality yardwork service money can buy is the foundation of our exclusive selection advantage described in #2 above. 4. Convenience: It is utterly inconvenient to deal with the headaches, hassles, and horror stories of fly-by-night service providers. Our service never has a tuba-playing-the-wrong-note moment. Convenient! 5. Personalization: Every yard is different, and we take a lot of time getting a picture of what the customer wants their yard to look like. And, I play to that during the bid appointment. We do not offer one size fits all service. I really enjoyed this video!

I buy on price but only if the product is the same quality as the more expensive product, like food products are cheaper in some shops and it’s the exact same product. My business hits most of these we compete on price with some items, then have more expensive products so the range is big..... Our products are personalised as well.

There is always a segment who wants the best quality yardwork service (for example), and they are willing to pay more for it for two significant reasons: 1. It literally costs more in effort to provide such great service (I know, because we do). 2. It costs even more than it costs because of availability (nobody else is offering this level of service). There is always a segment willing to pay more, and always a segment of us willing to charge what it takes to give them what they want.

The quality is my option as a consumer to buy a product or something. Sometimes the others are expensive but way same quality of the cheapest one, I personally would choose where I can spend less. Sometimes most of the "cheap" one are way "off" when it comes to quality. In other hand. I don't mind to spend more for the quality I'm looking for. Class A vs Original brand, What is Best vs Fresh, or What is Trending vs Second-hand in the end it is still the consumers choice. Base on my opinion as a consumer.

I am 25 and was introduced to business stuff not too long ago. I am learning a lot so I will share a piece of my mind. 1. You are young and have too much potential, if you want to reach greater height of success, invest heavily in your skills and knowledge. 2. People would say you need 1000s of bucks to start a business, at some point they are right but business opportunity is something you will create on your own. There are countless people that have problems, fix their problems and that will be *your* business. 3. The most important thing that you should learn is how to *communicate* with others. Usually you would say "I can talk to many people easily" but the communication you have to learn is that influence the people, its too important. Once you do that, you can expect great things in future.

I generally shop for quality for anything that I expect to use for a long time (clothes, things for the house, and so on), but I tend to shop for price when it comes to single-use items or consumables. (Food is very high on what I don't like spending money on. Most of the time, there's really no difference in taste. Tho I will make exceptions for certain products that DO taste different like baked products and fish.) I must admit I do prefer convenience quite a bit too. But after years of using Amazon, I find that it actually is incredibly convenient to buy from them. Mainly because of their lack of quality control. (And, as I said, I shop for quality for most of the things they sell there.) You can't just buy what you want on Amazon and expect it to be good. You have to read the comments, compare, evaluate, and just hope the product lives up to your expectations. At least with real-life stores you can be assured that you get exactly what they promise...because you've been there before and so you know what quality they sell. So I prefer places like Harrods (London) that are both convenient (in that it has everything in one place) AND have a guaranteed high quality. If places like that had online shopping, that would be nice. Or if there came a Quality Checked version of Amazon --where they ONLY sold products that had gone through a quality check to ensure they delivered exactly what they promised and there was a reasonably high-quality entry-level for everything they sold... that would have been great. (And likely a great business. lol)
