DC2 Track Battle vs 300bhp E36! (then I get to drive it!)

I really fell for that E36. Full trackday VLOG will be up soon but I wanted to post this first!
The E36 spec is pretty insane. It also had manual brakes which were a first for me! Good fun though, the car is properly epic.
Engine spec:
M50 iron block bottom end
M54 internals
M52 head
Sunbelt Cams (from US)
Jenvey Throttle Bodies
290/300bhp with 270ft lbs
Other bits worth noting:
Porsche 996 Brembos up front
M3 Evo rear trailing arms/brakes
HSD coilovers
Federal RSR tyres (255R, 235F)
Kaaz 2 way LSD (3.64 ratio - top speed 145mph)

I'd say the E36 would be slightly faster over the lap, the way it could shove itself out of corners was insane! I had a ton of fun battling with it though, despite having a few issues with my brakes as you can see.
Also the pedal cam memory card corrupted. Pretty gutted about that especially when Mr E36 did such a good job compiling his footage! I'll have to look into a setup like that in the future.

I love Hondas and BMWs, same as you. And I'm all for your Teggy... BUT, if you decided to part with the DC2 and build an E36 track car, I wouldn't question you. DC2 track toy + E36 drift car is a dream. But E36 sedan track car + E36 Coupe drift car is indeed another dream. I say go for it 😀

If you're from Europe i'd suggest the E36. A bit less original of a build, but It would be easier to get replacements at a decent price

This DC2🆚E36 was one of the most epic battles I've seen in a while!💪😲 The only problem is, I got sucked into it and the time went by way too fast.⌛ There was so much to take in with all the camera angles and telemetry, I played it back a few times. Nice video there Dan. Love that the E36 is a saloon and not just another coupe! I've been searching for a 318is slick top saloon for years! I still track my E30 M3 but I'm limited on days by insurance and I can't afford to risk running without it. I want to go up to Cadwell too!

Yes on Assetto it is hard, I'm not sure why. It doesn't seem accurate with grip. Project Cars is more accurate but it doesn't have any good cars for it. The Group A E30 M3 on PC is nice at Cadwell though!

Pretty sick Danny the E36 is a car very capable and you keep up with him like nothing! A car like that can do 7:30's on the ring! But in cadwell the DC2 have more advantage! Nice driving skills, pretty sick driving both cars

Was a black vectra 150 diesel.. Was my mate driving us in his car. He's not into cars and track days so when I said "Oh.. It's Rolex and DannyDc2, I only watched him yesterday" He was just like who's that and didn't really understand hahah! Looked like you had a blast. Was that a bmw estate towing that e36. Watching you guys reminded me of btcc really cool man and that stack gauge and interior beautiful. I don't know I love bmw like I love my hondas. Every m car dam near uses itbs cant complain, what about the old csl, or the m3 gtr that used there race engine in a road car. I will still say my old 88 track prepped m5 best sounding exhaust ever until bmws electrical bug hit and never ran again. But the dc2 was showing them don't count her out. Great video poor dan I think he was trying to tell you see I got a cool car too.

Why are so many people hating on the Teg? It's at least 40hp down from the E36 as well as having brake problems. Seemed to struggle for grip on some corners past the 90" right hander too. Despite these problems it's still a fookin animal...

Which track is this? It’s now my favorite road course. Lots of elevation changes, epic corners, humps, dips, camber changes, nice straights etc. Perfect course for “regular” track cars not LMP1 race cars. Driving a road car at Silverstone isn’t all that fun (it’s too fast). THIS is where it’s at!

The Bmw driver has a bad habbit of keeping his foot just over the clutch pedal and this is not good at all for the transmission. The "dead pedal" is for pushing yourself in seat while driving fast on winding roads/circuit, and for street use is for resting the left foot.

Should I mod my first car? I'm currently 16 turning 17 in September, Car I've got my mind set on is a MK7 Ford Fiesta, presumably a 1L or 1.2L, currently the car is worth £3-£5K second hand. I was thinking if I was going to mod it to keep it stock the first year of owning it to get past the insurance, then modding it the second year. I've already calculated the price of 17" Rota Grids, A K&N Pod Air Filter and some coilovers and it seems affordable just wanted to get some advice. Thanks.

The alignment is spot on though, I don't know if it is related. Maybe I just need to go back to the tyres I had pre-crash (Kumho V70a)

A friend of mine had a crash like yours, to be true, it was pretty much identical. After the repair the car started to understeer a bit more. We decided to check the alignment of the chassi and it was mess! If you have next to you a good body repair shop you should check if everything is okay.
