Jesse, his girlfriend Tulip, and their vampire friend Cassidy head down South in hopes of recovering from their encounter with the forces of the Grail. But during their planned "down time" Jesse must face off against an enraged Arseface who seeks to avenge his father's death, while Tulip deals with Cassidy's startling declaration of love for her. As a bonus, this edition also includes the story of Cassidy's first and only adventure with a fellow vampire.

I'm not going to lie Arseface in the leather get-up is really giving me David Carradine's Frankenstein vibes from Death Race 2000. I lowkey dig it since the mask David Carradine wore made Frankensteins face look disfigured.

Excellent recap, and I'm really liking the use of sound effects and other subtle tweaks. There's something I'd like you to hear me out on, though. You mentioned how it felt that you were being made to hate Cassidy in this volume, and that you didn't like it. I think that's what Garth Ennis wanted, for you to be in the same spot as Cassidy's old buddy from New Orleans. You love him, but then he lets you down, and he's a vampire, so rock bottom is a lot lower. Tulip's not the only one getting a warning here. Further, there's pretty strong evidence that Preacher is both a celebration of and a critique of American masculinity. Sure, Jesse and Cassidy are pretty great guys, but we've had them around long enough now that we're gonna start to see some of the flaws and they are not small. Just keep it in mind for when we arrive at the Alamo. Thanks for the content, man.

Michael Heerema yeah that’s a good take. I prefer to like Cassidy, but understand why it’s important for the story for us to start to dislike him.

Wasn't Lestat if I remember correctly, but one of the guys who Lestat turned. *checks google* The interviewed "vampire" was Louis, one of Lestat's "sires". Me being a fan of the book series: Lestat is, however, the main character of Anne Rice's books which the movie is based upon.

Your starting to gloss over a lot of small details dude for example 35:36 when acareus slapped Cassidy and he saw his eyes

Yeah I do cut small details here and there. Cassidy’s eyes are messed up and Eccarius has contacts, and eyes are fine, and we don’t see Cassidy’s eyes. Do we ever see Cassidy’s eyes later? I forget what the deal with them is, and if there is a big pay off on a reveal later. I’m on my notes for volume 7, so volume 8 and 9 aren’t fresh in my mind.

It’s definitely at a low point, that’s why this volume and the last I gave a score in the 7s. But I think it picks up over the next two volumes.

Lmaooooo what about when he was in that pit getting lit up by the eunuch. That was alot more than 'some' bullets. I dont like where they took his character either and how they are trying to force u not to like cassidy as danny said in the end, but a few bullets arent going to redeem that. Theyll probably have him do some heroic rescue or something that doesnt fit his character and makes us have even more conflicting feelings.
