The gal sorta had a point tho'. Sure Assface's parents weren't the best and most people disliked them, but the guy could've grew some balls and get a bit stronger or try to do better in school or both. I'm not gonna comment on his friend much tho' since I have no idea how his family was, but his sister seemed kind enough.

His father pretty much thrashed him about and beat him up on a regular basis. And because his mother couldn't do much, he pretty much had no one in his own household to turn to. Combine that with the fact that most people just outright disliked him just makes it adamantly clear how hopeless of a situation he's in. There's nothing to inspire him. Most people hate him and his own family mistreats him. I'm sorry but this just comes across as cruel. 'Grow some balls?' I'm pretty sure he did have balls with some of the risks he took; one risk included snatching the gun from his dad and that didn't turn out well. Another example was when, one could say, he tried to actually start anew; when he moved in with the girl. HOWEVER, because he tried to run away with someone else, his father pretty much ran over and snagged him back. Assface TRIED to make his life better but it seems like his attempt just brought him back to square one. He wouldn't think to just run away to some other random city and lay low because he doesn't know anyone in those areas and he's still an extremely dependent; he wouldn't even know what to do. Moving in with the girl was his best chance, as far as he knew, and his father ruined that. And yeah, he could've done better in school, but that's where morale comes in. With how shitty his life is, with how much his father beats him, with how much people around him beat him up, with how only one person really seems to care about him, why would he 'want' to keep going. I understand the importance of education as much as anyone else, but you must understand that when the world around you seems to be thrashing you at every chance it gets, what sort of hope is Assface supposed to have?

@@cj9606h If he wanted the beatings to stop and wanted out of his father's grip all he had to do is show him an A or B on most quizzes and so he would have good grades enough he could in the future go to a good school for plumbing or what not or even a good college and just have the goverment pay for his education if he's good enough. The beatings would stop and his life would have turned around. Plus if he started working out he would be better off when facing his bullies or the beatings of his dad. The dad would stop being such a fucking asshole if Assface would've put more thought and muscle in his situation.
