Well actually, he DID get excited for the floating island. It just didn’t show as much as some would think because he was already excited. And I’m pretty sure the vanilla animals you referred to are the bees and foxes?? Due to this being an earlier update, neither are present in the modpack, and therefore the said bees and foxes have different mechanisms

your temporary house is one of many alike that spawn around the world these houses have massive dungeons underneath them that are extremely challenging if you are not prepared however they can also be very rewarding and i would 100% recommend you to take one on in the future.

Your so called "Temporary Home" is actually a massive dungeon that can have a lot of loot but is really difficult at the deeper levels. I found one of those while playing The 1.7.10 Modpack.
