These little old vids are like gold. Had my van a while now and have identified the plastic thing on the windscreen being a teletrac device receiver. Got behind the panel thanks to your vid and there it all is. Loads of excess wires, speaker (as seen on this vid) and the control box. It’s coming out now! Cheers!

Hi both - are you able to give me some insight into wiring a CTEK system in using the wires here? I've watched the video and it's been the most helpful so far but I'm still a bit lost as to wiring the CTEK unit in. I've got a Citroen Relay 2011

Hi, thus means that the D+ coming from the Generator is the one you've showed in your van as black and white? That one goes to fusebox? That one I could use as the D+ for surveillance on to the suplementairy batteries, meaning that once the generator create current the suplementary batteries could be powered? thank you for your responding. Caution, this is an ignition switched supply, not D+ alternator signal as required by some leisure battery charging equipment. If this is used as a D+ signal the leisure battery is " connected " as the ignition is switched on, when the engine cranking begins it can draw current from the leisure battery either blowing fuses or damaging cables.

I just added the little delay timer device to sort this problem. the charging starts after a minute of ignition being on. But finding D+ might be easier. Whatever works

hi dan i have just finshed connecting up to ignition live and its operating spot on when i put ignition on . my question is when i connect to a sargent relay ,or to a b2b is it possible to draw to much current.

Hi Dan. Just seen your other video re Renault conversion so maybe you can help. .. I'm fitting a Sterling B2B onto a Euro 6 Vauxhall Vivaro. Could you use the cigarette lighter if it goes off when ignition turned off or did you use somewhere else on the Renault? I can access the D+ on the alternator but I'm a bit confused if this is the correct wire to use?

The Renault I have just completed was a Master and the ignition feed was located under the dashboard on the passenger side right in the far corner. Im not sure without testing it if a cigarette socket would work or not but if it is ignition fed then that should work. Hope this helps and many thanks for watching

@@Frankthesurf I think it was a thick yellow but I couldnt be a 100% im afraid. They are different colours all the time, even when im doing the rear lights for the coachbuilt conversions they change them from time to time. Its a long process but you will have to test the wires to find it. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

Can you tell me what the fuse size are.. standard blade, mini blade or mini blade with extended pins??

Would it be ok to cut ign cable and install a fused security switch into it?

Why not just take the feed from the fuse panel you just ignored. .. using a piggy back fuse(add a circuit) I believe the whole top row is ignition feed.. rather then hacking the cable loom, leaving room for faults later on..

Job done today. A bit scary cutting through that black and white wire but the van still starts and I now have a wire in the back ready for my charger. Would have struggled without this video!

Could I ask why you couldn’t just use the feed that goes to the cigarette lighter?

Because some cigarette lighters are permantly live so it wouldnt work.

I should have said that in the Boxer/Relay/Ducato vans where it is live only when ignition is live I mention this because I do that in those vans it is easier to get at

Steve Brown Hi Steve, so is it ok to use the cigarette lighter power socket that is in the rear of my Citroen relay? It only powers up when the ignition is on. Many thanks.
