Very smart move with the UK-Kenya Nurses deal, with a look at other professions in the pipeline. VERY SMART MOVE! BRAVO, KENYA!!! Others should watch, learn, and emulate.

This is why we need freedom to explore our talents and impart knowledge throughout Afrika. Don't we need nurses in our home land too. Why export them. Champion for free education that can serve all regardless of poverty. Thank you Mr Ogola so much for your patient and determination.

This is a good development and opportunity for the qualified. I kindly urge you to follow up Alex, I believe if not properly handled this deal with result into a sandal where the qualified will be asked to bribe as the final qualification.

There's still a grey area on this labour agreement. The taxes/deductions aren't clear and I don't understand why they still need to do the English test if the agreement is between the two governments. Do ambassadors to UK do English tests?

They will kick you all out before the yr is over. It's a temporary stopgap measure to address needs that arose due to covid. Kama unapanga kinda huko have a plan B. The UK is brutal with their immigration just ask their fellow Europeans.
@sharonckipchumba

@@TheMrgoodmanners Iam not buying the idea either.It is a trap and a big loss to Kenyan government. Those nurses have been sponsored by Kenyan government to study then go outside to offer services. The Uk government will pay them and tax them heavily.Not good deal at all.NHS will over use with less pay.

Good question, in Australia they demand the English exam from all nurses even the ones from UK, USA and Canada

@@wanjikumurua8193 There's certainly something these people want to be sure about. Besides, they have their own experiences having worked with foreigners or immigrants. Communications at healthcare level isn't something you want to compromise on.

They will end up earning almost as much as they make in Kenya after paying all the bills, food, transportation, medical and rent! They will have to get second jobs just to make it. The west know how to market themselves...

Iam not being funny but the KENYA - UK nurses deal appears absolute BRAIN DRAIN. Iam wondering why not other careers? They want to tap on already trained resources. Iam saying this because as an international student in UK is it very difficult to get admission for nursing school unless you have indefinite leave to remain(ILR) some universities might offer you but you will pay for placement. The Kenyan government cannot justify this as away of s olving unemployment problems. They need to create opportunities for nurses with good pay back home. Those salaries aren't correct, infact its about £1750 per month for fully qualified nurse and they will tax it properly and you will end up with £1400 that will all go to bills. The shared salaries are for agency workers working 7days per week. Anyway my point is to be careful with developed world ,they are very clever with their moves thats brain drain. African countries were facing vaccine shortages and they were busy pushing people for second doses and booster jabs why not share equally with other countries.
