I have two comments, that align with Dan's theories--and one Cray-Cray Ending Prediction. First off, I agree that Amanda's mind is what's preventing Jason1 & her from reaching his original world. She is emotionally attached/desires Jason1, because he has the traits that she liked in Jason2 (in her world) but NOT his dark-side. She even mentions that Jason1 handles his anger better than "her" Jason does. So, when they're in the box Amanda, without knowing it, is over-riding Jason1's emotions/focus; and preventing them from reaching a "perfect" Jason1 world. Remember: Daniela has died in the world that Jason1 & Amanda traveled to. That's what Amanda unknowingly wants/has "projected" onto their universe traveling. 2- I also agree with Dan's solution: Jason1, Amanda, and Ryan will somehow connect/get together in order to solve the problem of traveling to Jason1's world. I think Amanda is just about to discover that HER thoughts have to be cancelled-out in order for them to effectively use the Box. Jason1 & Amanda may also realize that they must focus on the immediate problem--in this case, getting more of the drug. So, rather than concentrating on finding Daniela & Charley (which they may not be able to unify in focusing on because of Amanda's feeling); they jointly focus on finding "a" Ryan. They discover Ryan1 in his Exile World. And, now armed with their remaining doses of the drug (from Jason1 & Amanda's stash) Ryan can create more. This gives them "space" to travel to various places before finding & overcoming the cemented-box problem; possibly by building a SECOND Box. Remember, Jason1 still has the same intellectual capability that Jason2 has--and CAN build a Box. That's how I think the series/season will "most likely" end. However... 3- I have a twisty ending, that I've suggested before. Jason2 is about to be confronted by Daniela about his "differences"--and especially with Ryan suddenly missing. Jason2 has shown to be a very adept manipulator; and persuasive strategist. So, while acknowledging he IS a different Jason, he convinces Daniela & Charley that the reason he's come into their lives is to take them to a universe where the three of them can be together with Max. Under this twisty ending, Daniela & Charley realize they WANT to be with Max, and Jason2; and tell that to Jason1, Amanda, and Ryan. This results in Jason1 deciding to "let go" of Daniela & Charley; and stay behind in his original universe, with Amanda & Ryan, and together all three will monitor/assist "Box Travelers" like Leighton, Blair, and the other two Velocity traveler. And, Amanda & Jason1 begin their romantic relationship.

When they got to 'Raspberry Beret Universe,' and Jason realized the remembrance tree wasn't at the house, I'm surprised he didn't consider that Max MIGHT be alive there.

At 19.35, I'm sure I also saw Leighton dancing in the club at the same time as Jason and Amanda

A comment on Amanda being the one blocking Jason, and a theory about that. I agree that it seems likely that Amanda is subsconsciously blocking Jason from getting back to his world, but the episode added a wrinkle to that theory by not just showing how, but also how it might affect the upcoming upisode. As she was jotting down in her notepad the kind of world she wants to go back to (a lot of people have been able to decipher what she wrote) it seemed funny to me to note that that world was NOTHING like the world Jason came from (i.e. our world). i.e. an equitable world of compassion and whatnot. Jason's subconscious knows his world is nothing like that so Jason is trying to get back to his world, but that's not the world that Amanda's subconscious is trying to get to. And the mixed or crossed signals are probably what are blocking Jason and I think we can all see that. Now here comes the theory part: But the world she was describing DOES sound a lot like the world that Jason 2 (if we're to believe him) supposedly took and trapped Ryan in.. He called it a more progressive world than ours and I have to imagine he didn't just mean in the technological sense but also the social sense as well. What if Jason 1 decides to let Amanda take the wheel in their next go around to determine which world they end up in by letting her open the door - possibly to let her find a world she wants - and going by the notes she wrote, they end up in the world that Ryan 1 was trapped in? It would be the perfect gateway and excuse to have them meet-up and then together the three of them figure out how to get back to Jason 1 (and Ryan 1's) world. Plus, they might meet Ryan while they still have some full ampoules left and with much more of the sample and in a more advanced world, they'll have everything they need to make more of the drug. The only puzzle left then will be how they get past the concrete barrier. ......assuming Jason 2 doesn't break it down himself first - which we think there's a good chance he will. I still don't know how to fit the Leightons into all this (particularly Leighton 2. Why show us that post credit scene of him looking all raggled and having been through it if we weren't going to see him again?)

To piggy back on a theory, I think a likely scenario from here is that Good Jason and Amanda will nearly run out of ampules and have no choice but to focus on getting to a world that can replenish their ampules. Thus, they will end up somewhere that can offer the best chance to acquire ampules: 1. Ryan1’s world where Bad Jason just stuck him (he can make new ampules or they can combine forces to find them) 2. One of the Leighton’s worlds (probably the rich one because we know he has up to 50 ampules) 3. The original Bad Jason’s world (but there might not be ampules there if Bad Jason took them all) I actually think they will find Leighton 2 and his ampules because that’s the most efficient path to acquiring ampules. Ryan can technically make them but he is penniless and it may be expensive and/or take years to actually create them.

Love y’all’s perspective, glad I found you. I’m obsessed with this show and try to watch every introspective I can get my hands on. Yours is very reminiscent of Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan over at The Watch. Glad I watched all the way through to know you don’t like spoilers! The one thing they don’t do a good job is explaining why. Jason 2 doesn’t like his life because his Jennifer doesn’t hate him she actually still cares about him deeply based off what happened when she met Jason 1 So that part I’m not sure why he couldn’t just went back to her and started a life

LOL “I’m lovin’ it”. I’m really liking the theories. They seem like there’s a good chance they will come true. I think that Jason 2 thought that if he just got the family life and the money that he would have the absolute perfect life. He’s starting to realize that it’s not as picture perfect as he imagined it would be. There was a reason he chose his career over a family in his original life. He has a selfishness about him and I think that he’s the kind of person that will never stop wanting more. I think that the way that the box will be opened back up is if 1) He messes things up so badly in this life that he needs to escape and find a new one or 2) He ends up realizing that he hates this one and wants to go on the search again for a new “perfect life”.

First off, Jules, your hair looks great like great!! In the world where Ryan is abducted by velocity, i think he is still alive. We never saw what happened to him. Jason asks Amanda what happened to him, and she implies he's dead by saying, "Im sorry, Jason." I think she has ulterior motives. So if he still alive, then maybe he is working on some sort of plan.

Awesome!!! I love the coverage format and obviously love the show ! Btw, i love your ending summary of clips of actors saying “…. What happened or that just happened” . Ricky Bobby saying that just happened is my favorite I say it all the time and my wife can’t stand it !! Probably why I say it so much. Anyways, I love the theory of connecting with Ryan but i actually think we may be seeing a connection with Ryan, Amanda and Jason 1 and then Leighton with all the ampuels and that’s how they extend things. To be honest im thinking that’s how this season will probably end after some chaos and high intensity drama involving Jason’s wife and Jason 2 that takes us back to the box that’s closed up with both on each side banging on it looking to get through and figure out how. Who knows but whatever the case, this show is dynamite. I really home they extend another couple seasons. They could even make things crazier with the son Charlie escaping through the box looking for a world with his brother still alive , etc, etc…

I have some problems with this episode, but I do think to much, lol. How did they get money to eat and have money for the hotel. They could have used cash but no one carries cash anymore. How did Amanda get into the storage unit. Most places have codes you have to have to get into or at least is locked down. Love the episode I'm just nitpicking

What if Jason accidentally dropped Ryan off in a world where Jason and Ryan are best friends and have figured out the box together and are happy to help Ryan get home

Well we DO know that Jayson 1 and Jayson 2 will meet face-to-face and have a sit-down at that bar, thanks to Apple's stupid promo image they released when they were marketing the show. In which world that bar meet-up happens, who knows, but what it says is that either Jayson 2 breaks the concrete barrier and heads out into the multiverse again where he finds them, or Jayson 1 finds a way to get back to his world and past that concrete barrier. I honestly don't expect them to find Ryan. Ryan seems to be in a world unlike the worlds Jason 1 is currently experiencing. Jason 1is getting closer to his reality, I would find it strange for him to go backwards in to the world Ryan is stuck in, unless they actually decided to go in search of a Ryan that could make more vials. That would give them a reason to look for him......hmmm Also theres Blair still out there, it would be weird to reunite 3 characters and leave the 4th one stuck.

I think Jasin 2 will break open the box as 🚔 the authorities tie him to Leighton and Ryan's disappearances just in time for Jason 1 to take the fall or also grab the family and leave for realities unknown.

I feel like it's not impossible for her to fathom it's a different jason because she knew Jason when he was trying to build the box before they got married. It's not like he wouldn't have told her what the box he was trying to build was.

My comments: Amanda serving as the psychologist for bad Jason2 had him pegged as a narcissist who is an explorer. Unwilling to make sacrifices for Daniella will go back into the sealed box to find another world and another woman to replace Daniella very clear. I think the likelihood of Jason one in Amanda finding his old world will become too difficult because it will require more ampules than they have. Amanda and Jason one fall in love and settle on a new door that offers them a new life forever together to raise a family and rebuild the stability that Jason had with Daniella and Charlie with Amanda. Both will become happy with the situation, considering the limited supply of ambles and the fact that both of them will be together. I think Ryan that was abandoned in Jason1’s world will meet again who will encounter Ryan really pissed off when Jason one re-enters the box to go new situation hunting. Either they get into a fight or come to an amicable agreement that they collectively use their respective talents to collaborate to commercialize the use of the box what I don’t understand is the fungibility of the money between Worlds Jason2 at one point said that currency hundred dollar bills that are brought into a New World are useless because the serial numbers are traced. So here’s my holdup when Amanda and Jason one pick in arbitrary world suspend the night at a hotel gain a great dinner they had to pay for it. How? I can’t imagine an American Express card working in one world for Jason1 working in another world. If they paid for the hotel and meal at the restaurant with cash, don’t they run a fear of passing counterfeit money? That question should be brought to your readers and commenters to find out how they figure money transfers from one world to the other. The only thing that I could think of that would transfer Wealth from one world to the next more gold wars diamonds, or any other commodity that you can carry with you from world to world. Please let me know if any of your readers have figured out.

My thought would be drugs or a tumor. No one would jump to a multiverse alternate.

I think both Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly should get multiple awards for their performances.

Jason2 maybe implicated in the abduction and possible disappearance of Ryan. Ryan is a famous scientist in this world and and if he goes, missing people are going to notice. The cell phone tower, where he went was pinging his last location, and presumably got interrupted momentarily when they stepped into the New World 3:25 because cell service in a world is impossible. Jason2 was seen in a public place with Ryan where they look like they were having an argument presumably with with video recording. It may be that the version of Jason where he’s in prison might be for the murder of Ryan. Also, Jason Juan will never get back to the world that he came from with Amanda because Amanda once a future with Jason one and the box will never take them to where she does not get that. My earlier theory is more likely where they settle on a utopian world and live their life out as a couple.

Hold on a second. When ‘Bad Jason’ closed the door on Ryan why couldn’t Ryan open the door to the box? He should be able to open the door, right. Ryan’s problem should be trying to get back to his own world, which is same issue ‘Good Jason’ has… Am I mistaken?

Also, I hope Jennifer Connelly (or someone close to her) reads the comments of these Dark Matter review videos or the videos themselves on YouTUbe, because the consensus reviews on her blonde take of that version of herself has been nothing but almost universal thumbs up, and "Smoking hot!!!"

Why doesn't Jason think of the world that his kidnaper is in and Amanda think of the world that her real husband is in? End of story!

The book ending is crap, so far the show is better than the book, they better not give us the same ending as the book.
