Great to see another synth video from you Kjartan, I always keep a lookout. I don't recall an SQ1 in your setup before and then there's that IK Drum Machine. Nice additions.

Thanks! The SQ1 doesn't have the full interface of the DTs (or cute switches) but it does do glides and Hz/v which is useful for the old Korg MS20. And the UNO drums are very twiddlable!

Thanks! I must admit, since I got the Dark Times, I'm too busy playing around to make vids 😊

That was great you capture the joy of using synths. And some of the chaos they can produce.

Chaos ha ha! You'll like the end of my new video on Syncing Dark Energies then - I had no idea what I was doing!

@@murderousmaths oh man I just watched it. It was great. The dark energy 1 was my first real synth. I love that thing...

My problem is that having the two together on my desk, I hardly ever reach past them to play with my older stuff now! I've had them synced for weeks now and the novelty still hasn't worn off.

An inspiring video! I have 2 dark times and a dark energy that is supposed to arrive today, so I'm excited to pair them.

Be warned, they are extremely addictive!

As someone who builds sequencers, your channel is a dream to me! 😃 I’m obsessed with them! Love what you’re doing!

Thanks! I'm hoping to do a proper sequencer walk-through at some point, and it'll show the sequencer i tried to build when I was at uni in 1978!

What a lovely track - the pub's loss is youtube's gain! I know very little about synthesis - does the DE (which I presume must be a sequencer) default to 4/4, or can you get it to explore other time signatures? Thanks for posting; I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for the nice feedback! The Dark Times and the SQ1 all have 16 "notes", which you can mute (giving a rest) or skip, thus reducing how many beats play in a sequence. I did a 10-beat swing sequence I was very proud of but sadly never recorded it!

I just did a new vid with you in mind! Hope you like it 😊

@@murderousmaths Very many thanks for this - I watched (and enjoyed) your 7/4 piece last night with my kid - who loved your music and the Christmas reindeer! Very pleased to have prompted something so musical to appear on youtube, and now want to have a go making polyrhythms! Best research and buy some kit ...

That DE2 needs some sort of sequencer for gate switches. One guy could only be operating that unit alone. So much song progression tucked in there, left untapped. (or is it unswitched)

Clever thought, but when things get that fancy I'd imagine people would prefer running synths from a computer. Me, I just like clicking the little switches!
