Sister Sage could have had a doctor strange moment and calculated the best way to stop Homelander is to work for him. However I feel Homelander and Sage have a mutual respect for each other. Homelander is the physical equivalent to Sage’s intelligence. They’re both at the top of their game. Game respects game.

In the comic books it is easier to make super powered people and variants of compound v. There are probably thousands of them. In the show, it seems somewhat more difficult to make them

Sage’s superpower is causing chaos. She sets up the situations and sits back enjoying fallout. After Noir’s death, I think Edger knew Homelander would eventually run to Sage. So, he prepped her to seize functional control of Vought and prepare the stage for Homeland’s takedown. Everyone is a pawn in her game, but she is also a pawn in the larger scheme of things.

One thing that really bothered me is how much we've been shown of homelander and his insane senses. How did he not hear Hughie breathing or his heartbeat or smell his sweat when he was 10 inches away in that vent with some airflow. I get it was for the narrative of the show but I hate when powers are established then they change it for certain scenes. Homelander from any other season would have stopped mid conversation looked up and grabbed Hughie before anyone could even react

Got take. Sister Sage isnt on Homelanders side. She knows how unstable he is. She's working out her own plan, which is the only way to take down Homelander. This includes manipulating the deep and setting eveeything else that has happened up. She's thinking so 4th dimensionally that she's planned everything thats happened.

I think she has plans for Homelander long-term, she’s shown she has identified his psychological issues (need for approval, oedipus complex, fear of aging) within a few interactions with him, I would be surprised if she doesn’t turn on him at some point. The other option would be some sort of traumatic moment that puts her over the edge to become truly evil

I like them as a duo. They amplify each other. Strength and Intelligence. Nearly unstoppable.

I think she’s probably making Homelander think she’s on his side while actually being on her own side playing everyone involved like Stan Edgar but smarter.

I'm willing to bet she's much more evil than Homelander for a simple reason: Homelander is a man-child with barely any intelligence, whereas Sage can make real Macchiavellian plots to ruin others. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets down with HL just to get pregnant by him and then have Ryan and HL kill each other, freeing her child (HL's only other child at that point) to be the only one worth 'inheriting the kingdom" so to speak. Sure it would take time to come to fruitiion but unlike HL, Sage is patient enough to wait even decades just to have her plan be successful

Sage would be a good character but Woke doctrine makes everything so predictable. A woman of colour can not be the bad guy. Give it a couple of episodes and we'll find she's actually a saint.
