About the Butcher situation, the animated spinoff Diabolical has a story about a dying woman being injected with Compound V, but it affected the cancer and gave it powers and a form of sentience.

I think whatever is crawling around under Butcher is acting like the venom symboite actively trying protect its host though I think it’s still killing him, but maybe it attacks the V in supes body tearing it apart on the genetic level resulting in the supe to explode

She only said that woman carried the baby it does not mean it was her eggs that were fertilised tho

This is the scariest Homelander has ever been now that he’s fully unleashed

Seems like almost everyone in this episode is confronting their past in some way: kimko with her sister and the shining light, homelander going back to the lab, Hughie forgiving A-train, frenchie confessing, Butcher being haunted by Becca, and Annie’s darkest secrets coming to light

even with the starlight stuff and her apology i find it pretty hard to believe that no one would care that firecracker sexually assaulted a teenage boy , i mean starlight beat up a pedophile but she gets the hate

Homelander’s story is genuinely so heartbreaking. Subjecting a child to this kind of torture is beyond evil. And the thing is that he ended up like this because of constant abuse, but the scientists chose to be evil. Frank didn’t show any regret for this actions until he saw that Homelander is a threat. I’m glad he got his revenge, even though it’s still not enough for that he went through

Interesting parallels between starlight/ firecracker ,and kimiko / tala young girls being pitted against each other ,and learn to hate each other instead of the oppressors that forced them to fight.

This is the one time I feel like homelander was justified in his behaviour. The people in that room are just as evil, if not more so than him.

I always knew Butchers worm inside of his head burrowing inside of his brain was not only from the Temp V he took last season, but it could’ve also been Compound V and good to know I was right. And yes I also do believe Joe Kessler is another hallucination of Butchers. He’s the demon on Billys shoulder, In contrast to Becca who’s the angel. 👍🏽

Oh and also I think Hugh’s mom is real and not a figment of his imagination or whatever. When Butcher falls out of the shower, it shows that he and Becca can’t touch each other. But we see Hugh’s mom touch him when she attempts to comfort him at his dad’s bedside. So she’s gotta be real.

It’s obvious that Stormfront is his mother. I believe Stormfront knew that Homelander was her son. I even believe that Soldier Boy was aware of the fact that Stormfront and Homelander had a incest relationship. My theory is consistent a pattern of disturbing sexual behavior in his personal life.

Hughies Mum is Homelanders Mum. She has super senses and laser/xray vision from compound V and thus why Homelander is hers and Soldier Boys son with a mix of there powers. It makes sense seen as she could see through Hughie that he was hiding the compound V. Homelander is Hughies older brother and his Mum had to leave Hughies Dad due to reasons pertaining to Homelander and safety etc.

This felt like a pre-season finale episode and it was only episode 4

I honestly think that some people saying that Hughie might be hallucinating his mom just like Butcher with Becca might be true considering they both too the Temp V, so far nobody acknowledged Hughie's mom, my thoughts anyway.

I swear people who call this season "mid" don't know what writing is, they expect only action and think everything that happens is an event which has no connection to the story and expect the events to be unidirectional and unidimensional characters. The frenchie relationship wasn't meant to last and it was clear from the first episode, it WAS supposed to be forced and feel random, frenchie struggles within himself not because of him being a person other than kimiko, but because he feels guilty about what he's done and is in scearch for a punishment, hence why he's drugging himself now and subconsciusly trying to unalive himself, letting everyone he encounters do damage to him. people calling it bad and forced while it was literally the point of it fr expected it to be like in every other show? We are 4 seasons in and very few people understood the series smh

Hughie got some legal documentation for a lawyer to study and confirmed that she has the right to make medical decisions for Hughie's father. So, I don't think she is imaginary. Not to mention, she actually made a decision to kind of kill his father, and Hughie needed to make extra effort just to save him. And then the imaginary mother saved his father behind Hughie's back? That seems a bit illogical.

It should be noted that they specifically said that the runaway carried the embryo, so the story about his birth is actually true, but she only carried an embryo, she wasn't the biological mother.

I think Hughie's mom may not be a hallucination, but someone who has more to do with Vought then she lets on. I might be wrong, but when we met her she talked about working for Vought, she could possibly be a scientist or be way more knowledgeable about V and Vought than she lets on. Therefore she might know what Compound V is and use it on Hughie's dad.

One thing to note about Sage's power, she said it only regens her brain but it also effects her skull as well, otherwise they wouldn't need the hammer each time for the lobotomy unless the skull heals as well.

It was stated that in the comics that Stormfront (who is male in there) is the genetic donor of Homelander. I wouldn't be surprised if she really is his mother in the series.

Homelander’s “caretaker” (for lack of a better term) only said that they implanted an embryo into the homeless woman to use her as an incubator/surrogate which implies that they did not use her eggs/dna. It’s pretty common practice with surrogate pregnancies to use eggs from a different source. His maternal dna definitely comes from someone else.

I think I know what happened to Butcher! And for those who have not watched Diabolical, The Boys animated series, major spoilers for one of the episodes here! ... ... ... ... ... ... Ok, you've been warned. In the episode "John and Sun Hee," the short version is, a man named John tries to cure his wife Sun Hee - who has pancreatic cancer - by giving her Compound V. And simply put, the V does *not* appear to give Sun Hee powers (at first) or even fix her cancer. No, it gives *her tumor* powers, and it *quite literally* completely (no pun intended) *butchers* several Vought SWAT members and leaves them *exactly* like we saw Ezekiel! As for what ends up happening, it eventually grows big enough and powerful enough to escape escape Sun Hee's body and all of humanity is threatened. It is later confirmed that Sun Hee has also developed powers from the V, and in the end, she sacrifices herself to destroy the super-powerful sentient tumor and save humanity. Anyway, my theory is that *that* is what has happened! I think that thing we see inside him is his now sentient tumor moving around. Other clues that this might be true are that Butcher himself has mentioned he is unaware of developing powers of his own (exactly like Sun Hee), that taking the Compound V "moved up the big day" (which with a tumor can *only* mean "the tumor only got bigger"), and if that wasn't enough, the scene where the V goes through Hughie's Dad's IV tube in into him (and him *immediately* waking up as a result) is *quite* similar to the shot in John and Sun Hee where V goes through Sun Hee's IV tube and she wakes up *immediately.* That final scene of Simon Pegg's character waking up literally almost feels like a callback to the John and SunHee moment! So yes, I 100% believe that Butcher taking the V superpowered the tumor, it grew immediately and it is continuing to grow (and is now sentient). I believe that eventually it will grow big enough to escape Butcher's body, but until then, it needs him to live - so when Butcher was about to be killed, it (again, no pun intended) "butchered" Ezekiel. I indeed believe that it eventually will grow big enough to leave Butcher's body and will become a major threat to humanity - even moreso than Homelander (similar to how Soldier Boy and Stormfront were essentially that in the last two seasons). What happens then, I don't know - will Butcher have to sacrifice himself like SunHee? I'd be somewhat surprised if he does, but it would also be quite the arc for Butcher (he overcomes his hatred for Supes to save humanity from the superpowered cancerous evil that came literally from inside him)! And it would indeed be interesting how the team fares once Butcher is officially gone (and they indeed appear to be making preparations for him dying). But that's not quite how I believe it will go down. I believe that the Supe-killing virus that was developed in Gen V will be used by Butcher to destroy the escaped superpowered cancerous tumor (granted, releasing *that* might kill him as well if he's ultimately developed powers through the V as well - so both endings conbined are indeed still possible). Anyway, I'm excited to watch to see what ends up happening.

He does not "let Barbara live" at all, she is trapped in a room that is welded shut six floors down in a building where every other living being has been killed and the lines of communication is cut, she is going to die a very slow death stuck in that room.

It is precisely here that they have united the entire theme that they have had with the best characters that they have spent together in their most personal moments!!! And look how ruthless and immune he's become in himself, Homelander. And how scary it is for the people in the room, who try to see themselves as good people. It is not like this. And thus they will only cause the time to come when they will no longer control Homelander's behavior.😔💀💀💀
