My dad has a corn field story... He was young, not sure how young maybe 16-18? Him and his friend always hung out at his friends house, and right next to his friends house was a cornfield.Whenever they hung out late at night they would hear music coming from the cornfield. One night they decideded to find out where it was coming from. While in the field they followed the music, and it got louder. And louder. They followed and followed until my father realized he wasn’t with his friend, they got separated. The music got farther away, as if it was luring him in deeper and deeper. He freaked out and sprinted back the way he came, and while he was running for the fence between the field and house he found his friend. They went back inside and didn’t talk about it. My father said to me once that the scariest part of it now was that it probably was someone trying to lure people in. Whatever their intentions were, none of us will ever know Sorry for the shitty writing and storytelling, I didn’t really want to go into the details, and I wanted to keep this short. True story though

DoesItDjent? That is a great scary story! You should flesh it out with some of the details you mentioned. There are magazines that pat for good stories. I'm a writer, and I'm telling you that you have a good "voice". Your story comes across well, you need to keep writing. If you like to write, it's the greatest thing in the world! I love it, but I like writing. You have a good style.

christine paris Agreed - it's nice to see a bit of positivity. Exactly what I've come to expect whenever I see your name. So, how's things with you anyway? All good I hope 😉

DoesItDjent? As Christine says, it is a good story - I'd like to see it 'fleshed out' a bit more. What kind of music was it? That's going to have a huge impact on the feel of the story. If the reader can imagine the music they'll feel more atmosphere, likewise was it a calm night, or windy - a mournful country tune on a windy night is going to feel really different than Metallica in the rain. Obviously I'm not saying to over emphasise things like that, but senses play a big part in the delivery. Incidentally, you shouldn't play down your "shitty" writing - that's clearly not true.

AnaxErik4ever Do you know that Keith Richards and Anita Pallenberg lived there in the 70s for awhile? He was in one of his many detoxes. Anita said she saw Indians walking along the road, transparent and sad. I always wanted to stay out there but never got around to it, unfortunately. Did you see anything crazy out there?

AnaxErik4ever That whole area around where you live is pretty packed with historic events too. I grew up in San Francisco but traveled some, although I only went to a few places on the East Coast. I ended up inheriting this big 100 year old house that's haunted, but it's not scary, it was all family so I just ignore the things that happen since I know it's not bad!

I lived in a haunted dorm for two and a half years during college and though I believe in spirits, I was not lucky enough to receive a visit from Lillian, my dorm's ghost. She was a student during the early days of the college who perished in a fire, and from jumping out of a third floor window.

It always amuses me when people mention living in the country and people thinking that is perfectly safe. My Dad was more concerned about me running wild in the middle of nowhere than he was when we lived in San Diego. If something happens to you in the boonies you'll be lucky if you are found in time,... if you are found at all.

So it's true that if you skip them they don't get paid? The only reason I wonder at all is because if it made them not get paid then why can't we skip the ad right away or just straight up the on an adblocker or sign up for you tube red ? I don't usually skip the ads but there are times were it's a freaking 5 min ad of freaking tai Lopez it's like a video before the video and this happens pretty often and I just can't imagine they expect you to sit thru 8 mins without skipping ...

One extremely hot summer day I was in the kitchen. I heard a strange rumble from the corn field. I looked out the kitchen window and my jaw dropped ,the whole corn field that was a sea of green turned into a sea of pop corn. Soon the the popped stuff started to crawl towards the house! I was horrified what was I to do , the only thing I had to escape on was my mountain bike . The white stuff was advancing rather quickly , I grabbed the largest pot I could find and threw all the butter in the pot . I ran to the barn before it was engulfed in the white fluffy stuff, I grabbed a bag of feed salt and ran back to the house at that point the butter was melted. I put a long movie in the dvd machine poured myself a beer and and had a great afternoon.

One time i was near cornfields (in the Netherlands) at midnight. The corn was almost 2 meters in hight.. i still don't know what i saw.. but above the corn there were 2 big glowing bright blue eyes. It was huge.. and the color of the eyes so unnatural. It seemed intelligent, so that scared the heck out of me. I ran away and called a friend to come pick me up.

When i was 15 my dad had a huge garden. There was a field that had corn and tobacco at the other side. One day we went to water and check on everything, however that day we both got scared beyond belief. As we walked we herd a rustling and on the other side of the field stood something black. It had animal like feet but stood tall and had more of a man shape. Although it was hard to make out all of its features especially its face. My dad had a gun and fired a shot but it didn't move. After a few more minutes of staring and my heart pounding it turned slightly and walked very slow into the woods. I never went back there again.. Not sure my dad did either.
