I totally understand & agree wth what you explained before the start of this story. My ex husband was quite a successful author, after many years of rejection slips. He was initially crestfallen when his editor used to chop & change & sometimes re write whole sections but because of these changes his books became really good & sold spectacularly well. Once he had a few successes he began to realise his work wasnt being faulted but set by his very experienced editor to become great sellers & get him well known. They know what sells, what is successful, acceptable, legal, readible. It's hard at 1st for any author to see their work changed or pulled to pieces but once they see the difference it makes, they accept. You are correct to tell your writers of stories what & why you changed some things but for them its sometimes a bitter pill to swallow. Keep up the excellent content Mr Darkness

I have had a story submitted and read on this channel in "5 real wendigo Encounters" i was story 4 and there were some small changes but for the better, he was able to make things that i couldn't describe and put it in the story im not mad in the slightest im glad he made these changes thats my opinion on that. I love your work darkness keep on making great content

I agree on editing, some people get carried away with telling their stories or don't know how to tell their stories, i rather read a good believable story based on a true one, than a true one that sounds like either a mess or like someone got lost in the line reality and fantasy

Until recently I didn't know you had changed submissions but it honestly makes sense to give a thorough read. After visiting your website, most the stories submitted, despite giving explicit instructions to proof read their submissions, most the stories are nothing more than run-on sentences full of grammar errors. I've read a lot of the stories as I seem to find myself spending hours a night reading your website or listening to your channel. Doing this means I hear repeats of stories I've read. Number 2 on this list had an entirely different ending, one that I found far more terrifying. According to the girl, after the children awoke and stood screaming in the kitchen, she grabbed a large kitchen knife. As the creature knocked on the window or door, she stabbed at the creatures hand through the window, hitting it. It cried in pain and ran away. I dunno if you found that part to be a little too unbelievable, especially how she worded it and that's why you chose not to include it but that's what she claims happened. Who knows? Really a swamp zombie in itself is unbelievable - isn't it? Beyond that if more subscribers visited your site and read through the stories they'd be more grateful to know how much polishing you have to do before keeping us up all night.

I have a swamp horror story of my own, i used to be a biologist. One day i went to to the swamp, to study alligators when all of the sudden I found a shack. I went over to the shack thinking someone was in here. Before a large green creature with werid ears grabbed me by the legs, pulled me into the house and ripped all of my clothing off. He then said "it's all ogre now".

Just a reminder that editing makes sense!!! To make a story better people often need at least one other person to look over the writing to start getting the issues out. That's why authors have editors, to catch issues and make the stories better, ya know, so it can be published. It's just practical and makes sense to edit stories before reading them so they make sense and so they flow well. They're supposed to be scary and it's entertainment, jeez. Awesome job darkness, another wonderful video!!!

My suggestion for the issue of changing stories is to ask that when people submit, they should make a note if they're okay with changes or not. Given your upload schedule, I would think it would be difficult for you to consult each individual about the changes made to each story. I don't think asking the community to shoulder the burden of notifying you of their preference is too much to ask.

Well, I wondered about there being SO MANY such wonderful and accomplished writers after subscribing and listening to countless of these tales!! Now I know they've been edited and kind of rewritten to make them such wonderful audio entertainment. The story teller talent is very good! I would love to be that good! As for the tale of the guy on horseback attacking a windigo with a sword, how DID that pan out?? Just curious.

I for one, like this style of video. It flows. The stories aren't super cliche. DP has his reasons for running his narration channel the way he does, and that's his choice, his decision, and he'll be subjected to the fans reactions. It's his job: I'm sure he's super aware of this, takes it seriously, and is doing what he thinks is best. As a fan, I would ask that people be respectful in their reasons why they're unsubbing or don't like something. I doubt that DP expects or encourages nothing but asspats, because if you just leave without saying why, he has no idea how he may want to improve or fix the problem. I'll admit, I've submitted a story. It did not "get in". I feel like it's a lot worse to be completely ignored when you sent in something you created with time and care, that you thought might be good, to Darkness Senpai. It's like oh... my story was garbage, and I only know that because of resounding silence. Insult to injury is bad, when cliche stories being told on here claiming to be true when they're objectively false. There's suspension of disbelief, and then there's just hokey.

Alot of people are not good at storytelling and you always provide us with great content. They shouldn't be mad that you made it BETTER. I know a story I heard in an alien video you had was absolutely ridiculous and sounded like the rantings of someone on drugs and I can't help but feel like that aided in the decision to edit things..

I have a skinwalker story that actually happened to me. However, I want to do it proper justice and get it evidence. I'm going back to my home town back in the US this summer cause I live in the UK for first time since I moved. When I go back, I'm gonna try and get photographs/videos of the area/geographical features and possibly any left over skeletons of the dead animals. Either way I want to share my story, but not yet. It's not as fantastical as most skinwalker stories, but it's still really unsettling cause it happened.

I really do enjoy the stories. Please keep at it. Maybe to help with the editing issue, add a box where they can mark if they’re okay with editing when they submit a story through your site. Or maybe add a waver stating stories might be edited. It might help
