The scariest thing I saw in the Mountains was the streak of blood and skin I left behind as I came flying of the sled I was on, and slid down the Albis Mountain.... I was 18 at the time and 38 years later, still have the thigh length scar

My scariest mountain experiences: 1) nice weather and suddenly such thick fog that I couldn't see my own feet. There were many possibilities for tripping and it was on a steep slope ending in a cliff... It also got suddenly cold and we feared being stuck until the night and were definitely not geared up for that task... 2) When the mountain is too quiet then it's because even insects are smarter than humans... I wondered why I couldn't hear any animals and paused to listen. I heard something so silent that I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. It was like the hull of a sail ship creaking when the sails catch wind, just that much deeper. Then I heard sand skip on rock and thought that we have no sand here. I heard more of it and suddenly I heard pebbles bouncing and I realised what was going on... We ran and had to stop due to exhaustion and even a mile after this, the path bore the marks of a landslide. We had absolutely not even the slither of a chance of outrunning it. We had just an absurd ammount of dumb luck!

My favorite is farm horror stories or mountain horror stories. I grew up on a farm and I love the mountains and forest, I've had some experiences and honestly listening to these does not freak me out. The only thing that does is robberies for some reason 😂

The first story is called Manananggal. Meaning Half-Bodied monster. Great to hear this one. Though people still call this a myth, in provinces and locations near mountains like mine, they prevail. Pregnant women and young kids are their fave meal. And yes. They have wings. Huge ones resounding like huge bats. How I know? I almost became a meal for one. True story Hearing this made me remember it vividly... with a cold trickle

Manananggal is a popular folklore cryptid creature in various South East Asian countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. But only in the Philippines I've heard of them having wings. In my country (Malaysia) they're said to be human women that practices black magic to stay young and beautiful, and their manananggal form will fly out at night searching for pregnant women to suck their blood. My aunt used to tell me that people will put up prickly plants like cactus on their porches and windows so that when the manananggal tried to get in, their entrails will get stuck on the thorns of the plants and only then you can capture and kill it. Another way to get them is more tricky and difficult, coz you need to find the urn, or whatever container the manananggal lady put her body in, then turn the body from the original position so that when her head flew back in to connect with the body her head will be backwards so you'll know that she's the manananggal lol.

Some are! You are not opened minded one of the first skills needed is to be open-minded and aware of the spiritual dimension/plane, and people that see Cryptids, well you don't want to piss off something that is over 7 feet tall with camera flash or orher fast movement and by grace and glory taking a picture is the last thing you will think of if you see a monstrous creature up close and personal. You usually piss or soill yourself or think you're hallucinating.
