If the guys in the first story did attract what they suspect he wasn't replaced, but he is deeply traumatized. I'd guess they put Him through a pursuit. Basically they used the skins your friend was wearing to turn him into some prey animal and then chased him around til exhaustion before turning him back. It's a typical if cruel punishment, usually leaves the mortal victim terrified and confused, and since they were forcibly shape changed the victim is unused to their own body when restored. The one who undergoes such punishment often doubts their sanity and develops an uncontrollable terror of natural/wild places. I'm sure you can see the similarities.

@@remingtonsteele5295 it's not something necessarily normally associated with skinwalkers, but they would be powerful enough to do it. Usually it's more associated with the Fair Folk, there are several stories of them doing exactly this to people from all over Europe. Since the aftereffects matched up so well I thought maybe the skindancers used that old classic on him.

Folks, for future reference, when someone writes out ".38" more people will understand what you're talking about if you just say 38 caliber. That is what .38 means. Sometimes known as a 38 special. The point "." just means "caliber", so a .44 is a 44 caliber, usually just known as a 44, sometimes as a 44 magnum depending on the size of the shell used. Usually a .357 is a 357 magnum, etc, etc. It's the "English" measurement of rounds of ammunition or the bore size of the weapon as opposed to the metric sized weapons like a 7.62mm or 9mm, etc.

I’ve often wondered about that. I was worried about all my favorite cryptid narrators always saying their names. I guess retelling a story indoors, is different than actually talking about them disrespectfully, while camping outside, is my guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well I know stories from my elders that's Skin Walker's are no joke that should be taken seriously , they are native people that turned evil to curse land to curse certain people and they are able to turn into animals which is part of the curse so yeah not something to be taken lightly, I'm still trying to get over my fear when it comes to that stuff slowly I have been but slight fear is definitely still there !

Consider the following. Hypothetically, your coworker gets replaced by a skinwalker, but I the coworker was unbearable and pretty much useless. The replacement works hard, is relatively friendly, and other than the disappearance of a few nameless vagrants, some weird habits, and a decomposing raccoon im a Tupperware container, the world is a better place thanks to the new coworker. Would you complain?

Nope. It’s the same name. Argyria or argyrosis is a condition caused by excessive exposure to chemical compounds of the element silver, or to silver dust. I thought it was a different disorder. A whole family getting exposed to this is rare. Must have been in the water.
