Daryl Hall & John Oates are often cited as one of the most underrated musical duos in pop music history. Despite their numerous chart-topping hits and enduring influence on the music industry, they don't always receive the same level of recognition as some of their contemporaries. Their seamless blend of rock, pop, and soul has left a lasting impact, and their catchy melodies and smooth harmonies have a dedicated fan base. Whether it's their classic songs like "Maneater," "Rich Girl," or "You Make My Dreams," Hall & Oates have carved out a unique place in the history of music. They may not always get the credit they deserve, but their music continues to be loved by fans all over the world

There was a quiz question a while ago asking what the best-selling duo was, and apparently it's H & O. They cranked out mega-hit album after album. So maybe people these days don't give them the credit they deserve, but they had and have a ton of fans.

Daryl Hall's vocals are brilliant, along with the amazing harmonies. Hall & Oates has been one of my favorite bands going back to my childhood. Now, at 50, I'm appreciating even more subtleties in this music. I'm a drummer, but I can't say enough about Tom "T-Bone" Wolk's bass lines. They are so freakin' creative, tasteful, and musically perfect.

1984. I was 10 years old, in Sacramento, and my parents got me a Walkman for a birthday gift (just a radio walkman, not even one with a cassette player). I was happy as clam. I remember the sun had just gone down and I was out on our front porch. I put on the headphones, tuned the Walkman to my favorite radio station, and this was the song that was playing. Still, to this day, 40 years later, whenever I hear this song, it brings me back to that moment. Thank you, Hall and Oates, for making such great music.

@@thisisalisonlo you’re welcome. Happy to share and thanks for the reply. I’m sure I listened to tons of other music on that Walkman but, for some reason, this was the only song that stuck to my memory all these years. Maybe it was because I really liked this song hearing it on the radio a few times, but, since it was the very first song I heard with my new Walkman and listening to it on the earphones sounded really crisp and clear, it was almost like I was able to appreciate it much much more.

There's a small Cafe named Hall & Oates in my small town in Korea. Their coffee tastes really good. I asked the owner why the name Hall & Oates? He said his father (now about my age in 50's) loved the Hall & Oates music and he grabbed the recordings of them and also became very fond of the songs hence the cafe name came. My wife bought me a coffee from there today and I'm listening to the songs played by the legend duo. :)

Soo imagining reentering the 80s on some type of soft rock pop song that is Lit. Maybe " We built this city" .You having a blast thru out , then you realize time is up and you have to journey back to the 21st century. As you begin to enter the time machine this song plays throughout the journey. As you arrive back it's still playing particular that second half of the song where Darryl Hall is putting the final touches on this masterpiece!!!! You shed a silent tear realizing that moment was priceless now it's back to reality!!!!!

However, when I listen to this song, I think now that's it!! When two people have mentally and emotionally arrived at The conclusion of a real and true true love. 💕Then the rest will just fall into place. One day we will be laying each other's arms and it will be One-on-One❤ I thought that might make you smile😊

2020 When a white brother sings like a real brother. Hall and Oates is the best duo ever. Better than Simon and Garfunkel. Agree/disagree?

Depends on the mood, they both hold a special place for me...... Maybe it depends on the memory I am having at the moment...... two different time periods of life.

@@UnionThugg "Blue eyed Soul Brother" was a saying we used in the Hood, back in the late 60's and early 70's as a statement of endearment . I heard him say that people (white) would tell him "why are you playing this kind of music?? But, he did it better than anyone, period!!!!!! And now it's crossover 💯
