I think its part of the way gay men are socialised. Straight men are taught how to find dates by their parents or peers or sometimes the internet. Gay men learn it by themselves. There is no inherited trauma or stupid tradition

I feel like I’m kinda both. I will go out on a date with anyone, but physical intimacy, you definitely have to check off certain boxes.

That’s not how fishing with a pole works. You just get when bites and you don’t find out what it is until you reel it in and it could get away. Women are playing darts, always aiming for the triple twenty but their aim sucks. Men are playing darts but they are standing so far back they just want to hit the board and stick anything.

LOL love this counter analogy!! 👌 I do still think the fishing applies because most women don't proactively flirt or chase - they wait to be courted - aka "getting a bite" and then will reel it in if interested. What do you think?
