That is a perfect break down! Even though it took you a second to get there it was worth the wait. I have been dealing with exactly this issue. A lot of what you mention matches this guy. I couldn't tell whether the guy was shy or whether he was socially awkward (he's pretty dorky). I called him out before and he assured me that he was interested. It seems like he's putting forth the effort sometimes but he doesn't know what to say. It seems the only time he notices is whenever I check him about being dry. I really liked him because he was not trying to be sexual with me and he was very respectful of my boundaries. Now, I'm on the verge of telling him that we are only going to be friends and nothing else. I'm so frustrated at this point that I don't even worry about what to say.
