Even more impressive were the many doubles he scorched into the alleys, down the lines, over the heads of leaping outfielders. Game after game, Winfield was often the guy who hit the ball hardest. And he had a rifle arm that kept many baserunners from trying that extra base. *Great* player.

He was no MR MAY!! Steinbrenner hated Winfield. How are the Yankees going to win World Series with an old Phil Niekro old Tommy John and garbage pitchers like Bob Shirley and Shane Rawley? Dave did hit with the Blue Jays in the WS.
