Bryan Robson would have been sent-off just two seasons later. Nowadays Terry McDermott would almost certainly be sent-off for his tackle at 6:41. In fact McDermott committed a similar offence to Robson later that season in the League Cup Final against West Ham.

Injury ravaged campaign if I remember correctly. Dalglish at his best, was unplayable. Done well to win two Trophies that year. Cheers Dave, another nugget.

Very poor watch, so many missed calls by human refs . But VAR is only an intermediate step AI refs need o be implemented asap. Nothing pure nothing honest just poor techniques and slow plays by inferior athletes 40 years ago
