David, it took courage to speak openly and honestly about Tourettes. You will never know how many you have helped. There will be a ripple affect from this interview. It helps to destigmatize conditions. We are scared of what we don't know or understand. Richard Paul Evans has been quite open about having Tourettes. Michael Vey, one of the main characters in one of his series, has Tourettes and has empowered children that have it. Being quiet about is understandable. You are in a position to educate people about it and that is exactly what this interview did. Kudos to you, David.

People are very ignorant about tourette's. Knowledge is powerful. My Grandson has tourette's and is 14 now. He had really bad ticks from 4 on that where very upsetting to not be able to help. Tourette's doesn't go away. Some are able to control better it as they get older, but stress brings it out more.

Someone in my life does the sniffing as well. I didn't suspect dr*gs as the first thing. I thought Tourette Syndrome. I noticed the sniffing and other facial tics that happened consistently. I suggested he get evaluated for tourette syndrome. He was shook when I told him not everyone with touerttes curses. He didn't know that. 1:27 I don't know about anyone else but to me her statements come off as "you don't talk like someone with tourettes". I like how David subtly called her out on it . That's like telling someone with autism they don't "LOOK" autistic or "TALK LIKE" autistic. 6:49 Actor Dash Mihok has a national platform and he talks very openly about his experience with tourettes.

Many years ago, I managed a store and about 6 months in, my vivacious, life of the party, joy to work with employees told me she has Tourettes. Some of the things I assumed were just Sandy trying to make things fun were, in fact, tics. (One of her tics was blurting out 'Woo hoo!') Sandy was my favorite person to work with the entire time I worked for that company. So much so that when I first got on Facebook, I searched for her, and found her. Knowing Sandy and what Tourette's actually could look like helped me later, when I taught at a school for kids with autism. Thank you, David, for sharing your experience and educating others on what it's like to live with Tourette's.
