This interview was recorded in 1990 about 23 years after the events she described took place in her life. she is an incredible interview subject and this video demonstrates my style of interviewing. Casual. Personal. Designed not to make people comfortable but to get them talking about real things with me. I do not mention her name here out of respect for her privacy. But I love what she said and the way she said it. #jesus #bornagain #christianity

As the people used to say back in the day in Ireland, "God knows his own" and God's children know their father. You may have to go through terrible trials in this life and venture far from home and into the wilderness, but if you keep your trust in God, good things will follow and lead you to blessed eternity. God bless you.

I love this woman's testimony. Jesus revealed Himself to her personally, how wonderful. I know a few other people who had similar experiences where Jesus went to them and told them who He was, and their lives were dramatically changed from lost, no direction, misguided, to lives of joy and purpose and fufillment. But, most of all forgiveness of their wrongdoings, and we ALL need this. Jesus did die for us, and IS the Messiah that was prophesied. He Lives and is real. I've had miraculous things happen, (too weird to be "coincidence".) I know God answers prayer and He loves us. And Satan is also real, and leads us away from God, to tempt us to do things that take us further away from God, and to sin. But, Jesus lives, and forgives. He's coming back soon. This woman has very wise words, and her life is a good example of redemption.

She reminds me of my Mama. She went on a long, winding, and sometimes painful road before she found, and fell in love with Jesus. She got sick with cancer when I was about 18 months old, and she was pregnant with my little sister. She passed about 5 years later, but her unwavering faith, and trust in the Lord stuck with me. I’m so thankful for that legacy. Wherever this beautiful lady is, I pray she is living life full of peace, joy, and love.❤️

Any evidence to support this, besides spewing out what a dozen people say on every one of these videos? Genuinely curious. Now we have people like Jordan Peterson, use the correct vocabulary in a Gish Gallop, and people call you an intellectual. If people were more articulate, it's most likely because they read, maybe even read a lot. People don't read anymore. They don't have the patience, even for an article on the internet. I've read that most people don't even read articles, they just read the headlines, and maybe the first sentence if you're lucky. And "content creators" (a neoliberal media term if ever there was one) take advantage of this: they give articles misleading or even untrue headlines, knowing that virtually nobody will even notice, nevermind bring them up about it. People aren't articulate now because they don't absorb and reflect (not that there was a great time of learning and culture in the 1950s and 1960s), now they just copy-paste what they think will make them sound woke.

Amen! I was born into a very Roman Catholic family - even attended catholic school, and while I’ve always felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and experienced things that make it absolutely obvious that God has sent angels to guide and protect me, I had never accepted Jesus in the way that Born Again Christians do. I never read the Bible, not even a single page of it while attending a Methodist college, but I did many of the things the lady in this video confessed to, and worse. At age 64, I started to feel a very strong and profound calling, even more so than when I was a young child and first noticed evidence of the Holy Spirit in my life. So for the first time, I began reading the Bible starting with the New Testament. I know realize without question that the Bible is the truth and that Jesus is the way. And I also believe that the fact that videos like this one which provide very compelling testimony for people of faith and even nonbelievers, are being presented not just because KZfaq’s algorithms steer them to us. To some folks that might sound silly or even crazy, but definitely not to me. Our Father in Heaven has things he wants each of us to do. For most it’s just to accept and love him, but because we are human and quite fallible, we need reaffirmation from time to time to help keep us focused. I like many others need considerable reminding, and this video certainly delivered, so I thank those with any part in making it, and certainly Our Father for his wisdom and loving grace which he placed in those who prepared it for us.

What an absolutely stunning woman, and interesting interview. The spiritual journey is so long. We make life so complicated in our quest, but sometimes that's what it takes. I can tell she is happy, content and no longer lost or confused. Funny how knowing Jesus made the scales fall from her eyes and she recognized that her previous path was not the right one. Same for me. It's like I suddenly had a HUGE weight lifted from me, and now had a clarity of mind about everything. The sky was bluer, the trees were greener...I was blessed with more discernment about things in my life and life in general. I was able to steer myself away from my own strange cult experience. Beauty, inside and out. It beams from her because the light of the world is inside us. A beacon on a hill in a dark place. That's what we're called to be. I believe as she does, I've been a follower of Jesus my entire life. I strayed away for a bit, but he never left me. I've ridden Harleys with outlaws and prayed with many of them wanting the Lord that I had. It's a beautiful experience. It's not about man-made religion, it's a personal relationship with the Lord. When I'd come to the end of myself, i was in a million pieces on the floor. Much like her. I couldn't put me back together, but he could. Thankfully I had a good foundation since childhood, but it took time for him to restore me. The 23rd Psalm is never far from me. Wisdom is in those scriptures. What the Lord has done in my life is nothing short of a miracle. I trust him, he's never let me down. Scripture says, "God is love". That's what we need more of, love. Thank you, Mr Hoffman, as always I'm delighted by your work. It tells who you are. God bless you.

People try so hard and search so desperately, and Jesus waits. He is so patient, He Loves us so much. Some take a short time, others a lifetime, some never hear Him over the world. This beautiful, precious one was so beyond ready to know and trust Jesus, and believe Him, as The Way, The Truth and The Light. He doesn’t normally come visibly, and in her moment He Blessed her with His Presence to solidify her trust that this is real. May her life still be growing and learning in Him, wherever she may be. 💔🙏♥️✌️

I also find it funnily ironic that the one thing that was holding her back spiritually was her perceptions of the thing she ran away from, Christianity. Im a nonbeliever, but after her whole explanation, I was so happy that she found fulfillment and joy despite me too questioning on why a hippy would go to Jesus, just as she had herself! History happens at every level of society, and ordinary people are too often ignored. Learning a lot, Dave! You probably do not remember our professional paths crossing many years ago. I don't remember the details either. LOL However, you must know how your films on KZfaq bring a brightness to my days. Thank you. We're are old enough I can sense you as a distant friend. Much like this lady in this film (although not the same path) , I now base my testimony on Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." Now, this does not say what he might do for 45 years between, but I can say I am thankful not for religion, but for a genuine relationship with God through Jesus and being reborn by the baptism of God's Holy Spirit. Thanks and shalom.

I remember you Mr.Mike. We met in Big Sur when I was purchasing a sculpture with my wife about 15 years ago. That's when I had the money to buy those kind of things. We spent about an hour in your studio, very pleasantly. David Hoffman - filmmaker

Dana Davison. I was surprised how honest she was about how the alternative lifestyle folks view Christians. I have found it to be just as she said: Socially Christianity is the kiss of death. Still is to this day, if not moreso.

I am rewatching this, as I had passively watched it some time ago. Now I see this in a new way, This woman could be speaking for me in many aspects with regards to her searching for that something which so many of us begin at some point in life, kudos to those who have found their 'something'. I am wordy, which is likely representitive in this post of my state of mind. If I am able to, I enjoy reading, art, and learning from people such as yourself. I also spend time in prayer, meditation, and contemplation, but in between and even during these activities, I can go from laughing, to crying, to thinking about the future of humanity and quantum computing, and worst of all I sit stuck in myself feeling unworthy of this life- then my empathy can drive me to bed. Like this woman, I have abused various substances, which would take 500 pages to span that timeline and it's 5 W's. Her eloquence and honesty heard and seen in those reponses make me wish that I had a teacher like that when I was a child. She must be, or had been, a wonderful teacher- having been so open to new ideas and ancient religions and philosophies and possibly kerping the best of it all, which boils down to love yourself, and love others. I am 40, and also am spinning in each direction looking for an answer. I have clinical major depressive disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and tinnitus since I was very young which after all the traumas I still attribute my own depression to Tinnitus, for the brain never truly allows the body to rest and I, as when I was a child, still break down and cry almost daily, and I am baffled that silence exists aming people because I have bever experienced it. As she said sowell, I too have alot on my (imaginary) dashboard. I use parentheses for 'imaginary' because I do not own a car, nor have I driven, for a long time. When I was young, I managed to excel in various subjects at school. I had learned to read and write pretty quickly and began my relatoonship with poetry by writing limericks of which not all I got along well with, and engaged with all of my teachers and classmates. I loved to read anything from Voltaire to Biographies to Mad or National Lampoon magazine through high school was a fan of The Doors, and of their lead singer Jim Morrison's poetry, since I was 10 [and still a fan]. I held down a job throughout, had the same girlfriend for 7 years since grade 9, and studied many things outside of school. Behind all of that and inside my mind lurked something sinister. I fought hard for all of those things, not for praise, not to please my mother or father-I just believe in people being theselves, as so many students and adults(gotta keep up Facebook appeances, after all ☺)would never openly admit it if they liked certain things they deemed could make them unpopular, and I didn't mind reading a poem out loud to friends on breaks on occasion, espousing on the magnifence of bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd, or just hanging out and making friends with people. I didn't believe in popular or unpopular, I liked nice people regardless of what they wore or how they seemed. Now, I am still able to keep the masks we wear on, mostly. I have been in the embarrassing situation of sitting at a café when out of nowhere comes a wave of dread that surrounds and squeezes my heart. I have half written 4 books. I didn't finish any because I procrastinate as I wait to feel some good energy. I have attempted suicides as cries for help but they became bolder where I am now lucky to be alive. I took my father's long slow cancer death very hard. It smashed already shattered pieces of what was left of me. However, since September, when I had my very first psychedelic experience (I tried a few times but benzodiazepines, alcohol, opiods and antidepressants will not allow them to work). It was psilocybin cubensis and it was in a converted RV for special types of healings. I took 10 grams, laying diwn and blindfolded. I wanted a powerful experience and boy did I. The shaman did it for free as always and true Shamans don't charge money but I don't judge thise who do it properly. It was a cathartic experience, purging tears from my chikdhood on up. I then took it a few more times. I saw visions that people scoff at, but the main one was Christ. It changed me. Now I still sleep a bit to often and I'm tired most hours, but if I am sad I don't stay there or if I feel too strongly I reflect it, not absorb. Mainly, I have a friend in Jesus, but this Jesus is a warrior. I still sing mantras quietly as a walk but I walk to Christ always. He touched my Soul and I don't even need these antidepressants which I informed my doctor, but it is work in progress so I take Ativan for severe bouts of anxiety. I don't go to church. I personally just light a candle with his image, albeit a pale Christ, but we are in the Western world and it's the Bible I care for. No religious dogma will confuse me away from who the true Christ was and is. Please no hate ok. Just felt like sharing. Thanks. I enjoy your films, Mr. Hoffman.

What I find interesting isn't the fact that she arrived back at Christianity or the particular belief systems she tried, but the sort of unwavering quest that led her from one system to the next. I'm honestly not trying to belittle her story because I don't have the answers and perhaps she's right, my point is that it's not the particular events and reasons behind her journey/destination that make these kind of stories endlessly fascinating to me, but the fundamental motivations that lie at the core of her personality that makes her believe in the necessity of the journey in the first place. To use another metaphor: if a Wall Street investor titles the chapters of the book of his/her life after the salary he made or, perhaps, the firm he worked at during each period, she'd probably title them based on the particular beliefs to which she subscribed. Her self-actualization seems to be based on the idea that it was just a matter of finding the right set of beliefs, rather than examining the implicit assumption that she needs someone to provide her with a metaphysical structure through which to interpret events, base decisions, make judgements, and giver her life purpose. She was willing to examine the flaw in her past choices, her eclectic, spiritual double-dipping, yet she never got past the notion that just she needed to find the right rulebook to base her life around. Isn't it possible that the reason you keep coming up against a wall and seeing the holes in the various belief systems you adopt is that they are belief systems created by flawed religious leaders based on very little evidence? That perhaps the problem isn't that you've been taking wrong turns and getting lost on your way, but that, perhaps, you've chosen the wrong vehicle in which to make the journey? Also, why do some people structure their lives around making a certain salary or writing the perfect musical composition, yet she defines her life by the spiritual pitstops (and, ultimately, her final destination) she's made. While she may look at the investor, and the investor her, as if they had lost their way, they're each judging the other based on entirely different systems of measurement. Everyone judges everyone else as if we're all climbing (or descending) the same hierarchy of values and accomplishments, but it's not true. A CEO may be higher up than a middle-management stiff in the company's hierarchy, but the latter may be the captain of the company baseball team. Ok, went off on a bit of a tangent there... I apologize to anyone that actually took the time to read my ramblings.
