This was a nice little walk at sunrise around rice, wheat, and unplanted fields on the edge of a small town. We start beside an irrigation pond in early morning blue hour with the first hints of dawn in the sky. From there we walk along fields in various states. Some are flooded rice fields, some fields have been plowed but are awaiting planting, and near the end of the walk we reach a few golden wheat fields. I actually had to cut the walk short because those ominous dark clouds brought rain - and unfortunately I was without an umbrella. I'm hoping I'll have the chance to walk this area again before the wheat harvest and when more of the fields are flooded. I think it would be a beautiful contrast if I can find some wheat and rice fields side by side, with the water reflecting the sky on the rice fields and the golden wheat looking golden. We'll see...
