The terrain in NH and Mane is different than the Smokies . A lot of granite rocks and roots with the elevation gain. Don’t worworry so much about mileage just enjoy the views and the last part of your journey! You and Leo are doing awesome!

Cograts on entering NJ. Good chance of a bear encounter. I had a bear steal my backpack while setting up my tent. I chased him down and poked him with my walking poles, and got it back. Epic memory.
