I use starter of koudaijs for 14days and for growers iuse concentrate 100kg of koudaijs+200kg of broken maize i add 2kg of salt and 10kg of lime is the ratio ok with growers coz my birds are my birds are not growing at all and i get them from Ken chic.
@Afrifama

I have never used concentrate but I know Koudaijs as a reputable company. I think maybe what you can do is consult some of their experts to advise you on the best ratios for concentrated.

one article that I read about poultry says that both the feeders and the waterers should be raised to a level that aligns with the back of the poultry for disease control purposes. you should maybe emulate this, just a suggestion sir
@Afrifama
@Afrifama 8 ай бұрын
I agree with you, the article was spot on. On our end, we actually do raise them, but I feel possibly raised them higher enough. While for the drinkers we tend to use wooden stands but I also noticed as birds grow so does the need to raise them again. Ideally, that's something we can try to fix. Thankyou for sharing your insights. I really appreciate it.

Ihave failed to keep my litter dry please teach me how to do it
@Afrifama
@Afrifama 21 күн бұрын
Hello Lucy, Based on my experience there are three ways I use to ensure the litter is dry; 1. Put enough litter during the brooding stage, this is essential for the next step. 2. Always turn your litter in the morning probably 2-3 days in the morning, it ensure the wet litter on top is mixed with the dry on the bottom. 3. Lastly, I usually change my litter on day 18 of brooding. This is usually when I notice the presence of ammonia. NB: The first two can be effective if you don't have a big flock.

What vitamins you give them they looks very healthy
@Afrifama
@Afrifama 8 ай бұрын
Well, our routine is simple, in the first 7 days we administer chick starter and Egocin. While on 3rd week we administer Super Enzyme ( Poultry Microbes) for 7 Days the just feeds and plain water till processing day.

@@Afrifama I haven't gotten around to weighing them but they are less than 300g if not less. I'm still giving them starter mash and this week I got a growth promoter hoping to speed up their rate of growth
@Afrifama
@Afrifama 6 ай бұрын
@@the254system My advice would be to make it a habit to monitor their weight on weekly basis. Atleast that way you can be able to know if you are in track or not. Also Ideally you might be on track as well, I have to notice birds in warmer regions like here (Coastal region) tend to have faster growth rate compared to those in highland areas where it's abit cold. If that's not the case. I would advise you engage local Vet they might be in a better position to help you avert the situation.

Hello Nancy, at Afrifama we usually start from day 18 but gradually and by day 22 we switch to fully to finisher pellets. Day 18 : 3/4 starter + 1/4 finisher Day 19 : 1/2 starter + 1/2 finisher Day 20 : 1/4 starter + 3/4 finisher Day 22 : full finisher Hopefully this helps, Aslo watch this for more insights kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l9aSicKVlp_UiYE.htmlsi=uPJ6TSqOtbjXTcXo

In 28th day how would it weigh (kg)
@Afrifama
@Afrifama 6 ай бұрын
From experience, On the 28th Day your birds should have an average of atleast 1.6 Kg and 1.5 on lower side. This applies if you have optimal conditions, good brooding, management, feeds and climatic conditions.

How many feeders and drinkers for each 100 chicks?
@Afrifama
@Afrifama 20 күн бұрын
Mostly I usually do a distribution ratio of 3 big drinkers (10 liters) and 3 big feeders (10 Kgs) for 100 birds. However, 1 drinker\feeder can comfortably feed 50 birds.
