This grade 2 piece was tough. I originally picked it up at the end of September last year. After a couple of months working on it my teacher suggested I put it on hold for a bit. I started practicing it again at the start of January. It immediately felt easier.
However, getting all the repeats was too much for me in this recording. In the end, I settled for ABRSM exam requirements which means no repeats. Much easier.

Nicely played... thank you for sharing... I too learned this (a short on my channel)... it started off as sight reading in my lesson...I enjoyed the piece so carried on with it! Great playing from you...

Thank you. This one was really difficult. I tried to play the repeats but would always mess up going into the last. So no repeats for you guys this time. 🤣

Thanks. RCM has a different scale doesn’t it. It goes up to 10, right? You should come and check out the Discord server I’ve set up. This piece sounds difficult, you played it really well 👏👏👏 I’m bracing myself for the classical pieces from this years grade 2 syllabus 😬

I first started learning it in September. It’s one of the hardest I’ve played. I took a break from it in December and started again in January. The tempo is the killer, getting it fast enough to feel the beat in duple metre. It’s meant to have repeats but I kept messing up going into the last repeat so I skipped them for the recording. I’d had enough of it.
