This video shows the day and night at the same point in time. It shows the sun rise that creates a reflection of both day and night. This video was taken from airplane while traveling to Bangladesh from Malaysia on 25th March'2016.

The ground on the right side of the aircraft is also in darkness. The sun has set for them quite some time ago and only recently set for you at altitude.

I have had this on a plane flying back from Florida to Manchester UK middle of the Atlantic Ocean during a "night flight" one side completely pitch black, the other side Dawn. Only had night sky for around 2 hours

That's what they call it the Terminator zone or Solar Terminator or Twillight zone. That is the zone, where you'll find the Day and Night at the same time probably like you've watched on Chalk Zone cartoon.

These things are known as solar terminators. A solar terminator is a moving line that separates day and night. The Earth is not flat.

Something like the video of the moon out on the Alaska cruise and pan over to see daylight, that scene from about 10 pm.
