I'm finding that in order to show up as my best creative self (especially as a freelance designer), I've got to create my own daily rituals and stick to them. Otherwise my anxiety and overwhelm take over. This video offers a glimpse into my day, and while you'll see me designing, you'll also get a peak into what keeps me healthy and motivated (as well as sane, ha).
I'm not able to show a lot of the projects I work on until they are released to the public, but I hope I'll get to share them with you soon.

What's your daily routine that keeps you feeling creative?

Creating. Sounds silly, but as soon as I wake up, I either draw or shoot a quick form video to get my day going. Could even be b-roll or a picture. Create create create!

@@dotpenji I love that! Starting your day with some creativity is a great way to make sure you’re always improving and working at your craft even if the rest of the day gets busy!

@@dotpenji That's true, it all starts when you wake up, if you are passionate about your art and you put in the effort and the practice to develop your skills, then you can make good things happen, not just everyday but most importantly for your future.

-I wake up at 6am -Do my morning routine. Includes coffee. (about 30mins) -Go to the office. I work from home, so my office is in a different room from where I sleep -Go straight into ideation and designing. Because most of the time I think of a project before bed. I like channeling my morning energy into creative output -I start working from 7am - 2pm -Take a break 2pm - 3pm -Start planning for the next day, read and reply emails (“housekeeping”) 3pm - 4pm -Close the day by going for a walk or anything that gets me away from my work station

I love your cloffice + I need access to your playlist, yo. 😊 Forgot we drink the same matcha in the AM…good stuff for sure. 👍🏽 Those walks are epic! Winding down with wine-haha 😂 t shirt slogan for sure. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the next one. ☝🏽

Thanks Nando! I’m so glad you liked this video! 🙌 The cloffice was a big project, but it really helps me have some much needed separation for my work in our apartment. And yes to the walks! The views are stunning and I look forward to seeing all of the water (you know how that is!). The Matcha is then my reward for doing the walks, which def keeps me going some days 🍵. Will send you the deep work playlist too! 🎵

I find that journaling really helps me out. It's hard to make sure I do it every day though!

I love it! Even if we don’t journal every day, I think checking in with ourselves and how we are feeling is a very important practice.

My daily routine is crucial in allowing me to stay inspired and overall in maintaining a positive outlook. I too was extremely burntout but am still working in my stressful enviroment. I have tried to take more control over my day and the below is my attempt to take back my days My Creative Daily Routine: 8:00 AM: Rise early and embrace the tranquility of the morning. Engage in inspiration spotting, meditation, reading, and sketching. No email or social media, and steer clear of negative inputs like news and media. 10:00 AM: Review your pre-planned to-do list for the day and organize your focus blocks in uninterrupted time slots on your calendar. 11:00 AM: Check email and Slack. Remember, most things are not urgent. If you add something new to your list, remove something else. Prioritize crucial tasks. 11:15 AM: Work in 90-minute sprints throughout the day, maintaining focused productivity. 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM: Enjoy lunch, followed by a mindful break. Sit still, read something light, or engage in sketching to refresh your creativity. 1:45 PM - 2:15 PM: Continue with your creative work. 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Dedicate this time slot to your creative endeavors. 6:00 PM: Dinner break to relax and recharge. 7:30 PM: Begin planning for the next day to set yourself up for success.

Thank you Corey for sharing your creative daily routine! This sounds like a really great breakdown, and I believe it will certainly help to inspire other creatives who are looking to figure out the best ways to schedule their days to prioritize creativity AND rest. I can definitely see some overlap in both of our routines, which leads me to believe that you are well on your way to reclaiming more control over your days so you will be able to preserve your energy for the tasks that are the most important! 🙌
