I've been volunteering doing care aid at my husbands SNF and I hadn't done care aid in a couple years (10). I was absolutely blown away by the lack of care, empathy, work ethic that was shown by the nurses and CNAs I was working with. Broke my heart. I'm the same when it comes to taking care of people...What if that was my mom or dad? If you don't want to take care of people, quit. Leave. Thank you for being a good nurse.

This was why I left the SNF that I was working with because it always understaffed; the CNA's didn't treat the residents right nor the staff.

@@thenursecollective Thank you! I was just going to look at your other videos, but more "day in the life" videos would be cool if possible? It could be repetitive, but I'm always interested in them haha. I'm not sure if you have a video on how to give report or how to organize during a shift, but those could also be helpful! :)

Hi please do make a pyxis tutorial. Appreciate! I worked in ER in the middle east and we do all the job. We don't have CNAs. But We have few health care assistants but they cater the entire emergency department and so it is very rare to get help from them. I didn't have any regrets working in my previous hospital bcoz it taught me different skills that i haven't experienced before.

Hello, My name is Lisa and starting my preceptorship on the Med-surg floor. I have to be honest I am a little nervous however greatly appreciate all that you shared. I was wondering how you organize your paperwork, or rather what forms you use throughout the day? As a student we have seen only one form and I end up just writing all over it with no organization in the end. Can you recommend one specifically for Med-Surg? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

My first suggestion would be to see if you can get some real hands on experience, but if not find a med surg nurse ans ask him/her to give a overview of their duties, refresh your memory of gwneral med-surg skills. If you still need more info you can reach out to me for more tips

Hello Leah, it seems to me that though the hospital is a busy place, I see you work autonomously. Is this usually the case, or are you around other nurses all of the time having to deal with their personalities? I like to work autonomously, where I have my schedule then go on about my busy and work. Do you have to deal with people giving you orders a lot, or do you already know what to do per se? Do other nurses try to boss you around? I heard when you are a BSN, you are pretty much your own boss, but as an ADN you may be micromanaged more. What is your take?
@thenursecollective
@thenursecollective Жыл бұрын
Pretty much nursing is mostly autonomous, but at times you do have to work with others. In the acute care setting there is no distiction between a ADN and BSN when it comes to floor nursing.
