Day traders MUST use MULTIPLE TIME FRAME ANALYSIS! Here's why! Even though this was a multi day trade, it applies to any time frame or target. This could've just as easily been an hourly 3-2-2 setup and target, but showing your entrance on a 5 min chart. All principles I'm explaining are applied the same. If day trading, targets need to come from a higher time frame period.

Great video. At your opening, when you are talking about daily and weekly higher time frames, I would have mentioned that the reason you want to see them is to find the support and resistance areas. You cant see them on the 15 min or smaller time frames. Trade to those psychological levels.

Thanks Sara, that was super helpful! Very curious about this as I am looking to treat hourly as daily. So I'm working with entries on a 5 and 1 minute but just not sure if I should look at anything beyond hourly for such small timeframes. How far up would you go looking for TFC if trading a 5 minute or even a 1 minute chart?

So, if I understood the video correctly, I should not enter any trade on a 5er unless I have a strat reversal on a 60, right? Meaning, just having a 60 green isn't enough, it actually needs to have a reversal signal in force before I take entry on a 5er or a 1er, am I correct? You can trade on a 1 min chart or a yearly chart. It's all the same principles.

Hey sara, I love the procedure and thought behind the timeframe continuity process. I had a question on weight though, say the 1 month is showing a hammer with tons of potential on the upside from the previous (2 months ago) bar, but the most recent weekly is showing a shooter. Also, would you tend to lean towards broadening formations on the weekly or monthly? Thanks again for your videos

Dear Sara, I like to ask the following; Keeping SL based on a lower time frame setup (in this example 15m) while the target based on a higher time frame setup (in this example 1W) is risky, we need the price to make an early move to avoid touching the SL before it's move to our trade direction - in this example, it did not happen but often it is. Am I missing something, is it that you cut profit along the way based on the same timeframe that the SL is based on?

You can do either. Mine are almost never on the same time frame. This is why we use multiple time frame analysis to lessen our risk significantly. A daily setup to trigger a weekly. A 5 to trigger a 15 etc...

So, how would this work with options? Because theta kills the option. How far out do you buy out? I've noticed, the stop loss on options is a really big loss.

If you don't want Theta to eat your contracts up you need to buy months out, and this way premiums won't be as volatile, but then again if you're day trading you won't be holding a contract for more than an hour imo. A 3 day hold isn't a day trade. The swings on contract premiums relative to a single candle move on the underlying can be ridiculous at times, best bet is to scale in slowly imo and allow yourself room to breath.

Sara, which paper trading platform do you recommend for practicing trading futures please? I have experience with NinjaTrader which is great, but I don't want to spend the $400 to fund a sim account just to have them dock me every month I don't make a trade. I already gave them $400.

Ummm, I suppose Think or swim. They have a paper trading platform and you can also trade futures on TOS so I would assume u can papertrade futures, but I'm not positive. Double check.

But this is a swing trade, not a day trade, you are trading the weekly setup using weekly targets, just using the 15m or hourly for entries, I like this and am learning this but this isn't a daytrade. Also it would of been nice if you would of showed WHY it was exhausted after the 1st weekly target, you didn't draw any broadening formations so how do we know, just because it hit the prior weeks high?

The strat combo sheet. 3-2-2. Correct. I was expressing more to take profit at your Target. This could've been an hourly 322, using the hourly targets but trading on the 5 minute. It's all traded exactly the same.
