I do that also from time to time. Do you happen to know why there are jury booths on both sides of the court room? That seems odd to me.

@@ploppy9943 the seats on the right side of the screen are for the courtroom audience. The jury sits in the wooden chairs to the left. I live in Monroeville now, and the annual play is so popular that they had to put seating for the audience there to accommodate.

What Jordan says about the jury is correct - they have men who come to the play each night sign up for “jury duty” and they call the names, and the group becomes part of the play. My husband was picked last year, and they really play it up- complete with jury summons that you get to keep.

I literally JUST finished studying TKAM with my sons two weeks ago. Just like when I was in High School, we watched the film before reading the novel. My kids loved them both. We talked about Harper Lee, and the real-life inspirations for Atticus, Scout, and Dill. I will show them this video this morning. Thanks for all that you do, Jordan!

I need to see this movie again. My uncle used to work for Gregory Peck, he was like his right hand man. He started out as doing his gardening and ended up doing many other things for him until his death.

I loved the book and movie of To Kill A Mockingbird. It was so great to see Monroeville and especially the courthouse. I loved the part in the movie where the black gentleman told Scout to stand up because her father was walking down the aisle to leave the courtroom. I remember being astonished when reading the book about how badly black people were treated in the south. Great blog. Thank you Jordan.

I recently saw TKAMB on Broadway. My husband is a immigrant, and recognized the title but had bo idea what the story was about. We saw it on a whim, because it was next door to Jagged Little Pill and he said he would be interested in seeing it. We saw it the next evening!

Love this book. It was required reading when I was in high school. So was "Uncle Tom's Cabin". My brother, sister and I had the same English teacher. She keep the same teachers plan every year. The part when Scout was told to stand up because her father was passing always make me cry. I grew up in the Midwest "Dubuque Iowa " and we were taught all men were created equally. If you ever do a video on "Field of Dreams" a lot of scenes were filmed there in Dub. Their was also two other films made there "Fist" based on Jimmy Hoffa and "Take this job and shove it". Theirs a hotel their called Julien Dubuque that Al Capone would stay to get away from the Chicage Law and check the caves in the area where their liquor was stored and made. He had the 8th floor and theirs a huge bank vault still there. They give tours for it. Glad you enjoyed Florida I live north of Tampa. Brooksville Florida. My brother is retired Naval in Pensacola. They have a great Naval museum there that's neat to see. Enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing Hollywood and all. Stay safe in your travels.

Cool! I was born and raised in Mississippi. Born in Starkville, home to Mississippi State University, grew up in Vicksburg (drive to downtown Vicksburg and there are murals on the river wall down the hill next to the river a lot like the murals you showed in the beginning of this vlog) and there are museums and National Military Park and all sorts of historic stuff in Vicksburg. There are River Boat Casinos in Vicksburg. My Dad was born in Natchez, where there are lots of beautiful mansions from the antebellum era. I went to college in Oxford, home to Ole Miss (University of Mississippi). Have fun!
