@Kile Wahl I don't see how what I run is relevant. If you must know I run Stereo Integrity components and Subs with AudioControl Amplifiers and DSP. What I was saying is that no 8" is worth $500. One 12" @ $300 will destroy a pair of those @$1000 all day long not only in SQ but SPL as well. Most people run 8s due to lack of space. In my opinion instead of running 2 or 4 eights you're better off going with a good quality 10 or 12 and it save you money.

I have a pair of the DD 2508’s supercharged. By far the best 8’s I’ve ran to date. I wish they still made the mini Z’s. Now I’m waiting on the Sundown Audio Z8’s and NS8’s to release

Nice not sure if those are worth the money because I got an 18" Resilient Sounds Platinum for $488 shipped. It can handle over 4k rms watts all day. They also come in 10" models if you want to review it next MBE.

I for one am not joining the battle. When an 8 is closer to a 9.2" than it is to being an actual 8", the entire category should be rewritten. Imagine a boxing match, they all have to weigh in at a specific weight to be in the same class. Whereas woofers, seems like anything goes these days. Just call the sub an 8.75 or 9". However, this particular comparison makes sense as they are both oversized. Meanwhile, I'll just try to stay true to the class, offering a true 8 that can fit anywhere.

Mbe doesn’t like the Sundowns… Even if he did the 2508SC are the best in the industry IMO when it comes to 8’s. I’m selling my 4 G7’s for them.

I'm assuming that dd audio has a patent or patents that doesn't allow other sub companies to build true to size... all about the money Dd 8 inch sub should be compared to a regular 10 ,cuz them regular 8 inch subs look like 6 inch subs 🤔

This gonna be a close one, the DD has efficient cooling but takes less power as compared to the G7 but the G7 can take more power but the cooling isn't as efficient as the DD, to me its a battle of who can play louder longer. Hate to stray from the topic but have you ever checked the deaf bonce apocalypse 8?

Battle? 800 watt rms vs 1250 rms and you think it's a battle? The only way DD wins is if they sandbag all their RMS wattage ratings for some oddball purpose. He says the DD can take 1,000 all day long, but something tells me that's not a good idea, especially not 1250 or they would not have rated it 800rms. The G7 is actually rated for 1250 rms. More power will always win out with same size decent brand subs

You will be surprised how much power the DD can actually take. Don’t depend on manufactures RMS ratings. Skar for example lies on their rating. I do believe the DB will take 1250 and maybe a little more but the DD will to. Each of mine are on a M2000 at 1 ohm for a daily sir

@@M.B.Enclosures Don’t depend on manufactures RMS ratings? That's a pretty bold statement. How else are people supposed to know what a sub can handle on a regular basis without blowing it to find out? If DD is truly underrating their subs that much, they are being complete A'holes and just another reason to never buy their products. I'm sure most subs can handle more power, but that doesn't mean it should be done if a person intends on keeping the sub for as long as possible. If they don't care about longevity I guess anything can be done to the sub.

Gately Audio Relentless 8" V2 Subwoofer is the only 8" worth considering. 1200rms, only needs 0.75cf and $500. It will blow away both of these 8's and the current Sundown 8's being developed.

my son had 2 dd 1508s supercharged on a m2 and stomp that db drive, 2 2508s supercharged will take a m4000 all day long, motor size means nothing to me its all on motor design dd 95000 looks like a little girl next to a sundown x but whose gonna get louder the 9500

The 2508 is a TRUE 8 inch subwoofer. Makes perfect sense to me to make the cutout the size of its advertisement. Other manufacturers should take notice and jump on the bandwagon. Afterall, it's not like they aren't sharing other properties with multiple manufacturers. Pee, poop or get off the pot! 🤣

Love to see your top 10 of sq/ light sq"l" subs. What DD has, DB, jbl, stereo integrity, kicker ect... doing more of an sq but still want a little volume. Leaning towards the jbl 12" or stereo integrity 12/15". Always like the Guru's input if time allows.

Yes. I'm not worried if the tweeters are X brand, mids are Y brand, etc.. I actually like a mix. Besides until someone is cutting me a check to go exclusively one brand... nope. But the fashion stickers for my windows that say "steal me"... I'll miss that lol. Thanks for the replies from all. 👍
