This is an overview and ride on my 2009 Kawasaki ER6N. The first 9 minutes or so is a walk and talk around my bike with a start up. Then I ride it up and down the street a couple of times so you can see and hear how it rides with the bike spec details at the end of the video.
I have now sold this bike. I had a tear in my eyes as the new owner took it to it's new home.

Thanks! Well it was a very clean bike up until I sold it. Not sure how it is now :) It was always garage kept and I didn't do a lot of riding in the rain. I rode responsibly and didn't beat the bike with harsh riding. I did wash and hand wax it several times a riding season and maintained the chain and oil changes. It was a pretty nice bike to be honest. The person who bought it from me got a very good deal.

I was selling this bike, not buying it. I did buy it brand new in 2009. I just sold it a few weeks ago for $2500. The bike was in excellent condition and had 8000 miles on it. I probably sold it a little low. Kelly Blue Book listed the trade in value at about $2300 and retail value at between $3000-$3500 through a dealership. So if it is a private seller, I would say somewhere between $2500 - $3000 or so should be the correct price. Go to KBB.com to look up the value of the 2009 er6n for your area. Hope that helps. BTW, it's a great little bike!

cool video... nice bike and color.... i want to buy er6 , in my country slovenia cost 2500-3000€ Can you tell me how is rideing with a passenger?
@dbreardon
@dbreardon 5 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I have not had a passenger on the bike. But there is enough room on the seat for another rider plus there are side bars to grab on if needed. The engine is a 650 so it should provide enough power.

Thanks for the presentation, nice overview. pretty close to buying one. 50.000 km and € 3700 from a dealer (2011) . Is that price reasonable?
@dbreardon
@dbreardon 4 жыл бұрын
I am in the US so it is difficult for me to determine costs over in Europe. But as an example, the bike you see in the video (2009 er6n) had about 12.000 km and I sold it for 2250 EUR earlier this year over here in the US. It was a private sale, not involving a dealer. What would concern me is the mileage/km on the bike for the price offered. But again, you are somewhere in Europe so I can't really give you any guidance.

@@dbreardon thanks for the response. I actually got my bike (ABS) last thuesday. Bought it for 3900 euro with 18k km, also 2011. I'm really loving the bike :D

@@eyobyt Congrats! I'm sure you will love the bike. The bike is really awesome. It has enough power to do everything you need to do without it being a supersports bike. I even took my bike on an 800 mile trip (1200 km) over about a week or so packed to the brim with tent and sleeping bag, clothes, etc. You will love it!

It's doesn't speak to you but , it does have a speedometer. I believe it is the law (in the US) that all vehicles on the road are required to have a functional speedometer. You can view the speedometer and tac at the 6:00 minute mark

09 for $2,200 with 9k miles is that a good deal?
@dbreardon
@dbreardon 3 жыл бұрын
9K miles on an 09' bike is pretty good if it has been taken care of. I sold mine...the one in the video 2 years ago for $2500. My bike had absolutely no damage on it and was always garage kept.

is $3,600 a good deal for it to have 14k miles ?
@dbreardon
@dbreardon 2 жыл бұрын
I sold my 2009 (the bike in the video) in 2019 with 7500 miles on it......$2500. Go to KBB.com to look up the value of the 2009 er6n for your area. Based on my current area it looks like the used price for a 2009 has actually gone up since 2019. The current trade-in value is about $2800 while the retail price is listed at $4100. So based on my area, the bike, if sold by an individual, not a retailer should be somewhere in the $3000-$3600 range. 14K miles is not huge for the bike but you can use that to try and adjust the price downward a bit if you like. That would be my suggestion.

Yes, I noticed my mistake when I called it a swing arm stand. But actually, in the US unlike the UK, it is called a "Center Stand" and "spools" are called "spools" :)

@@dbreardon and Australia, a centre stand is what you find under the bike which the bike would be lifted backwards up onto to lift the back wheel off the ground... what you call a centre stand, in Australia is called a kickstand.... Just different is all i guess
@dbreardon
@dbreardon 4 жыл бұрын
@@jonnothetrucker The kickstand is what you see at the 1:42 mark in the video....just helps the bike stay upright. At around the 3:03 mark is where I made the mistake in calling it a "Central Swing arm stand" when I meant to say is it didn't have a built in "center stand" to lift the bike up....lift backward and up to lift the rear wheel off the ground and have the bike stand upright.

I dont why i always thought the Ninja 650 had an inline 4
@dbreardon
@dbreardon 3 жыл бұрын
No, the 650 had a parallel twin. But their ZX-6R Ninja 600cc superbike has the inline 4 with clipon handlebars. Kawasaki has both a Ninja "sport" and "supersport" category. It is the "supersport" Ninja category that has the inline 4. Their "sport" category consisting of the 400 and 650 series have inline parallel and their 1000SX "sport" ninja has an inline 4. But all their "supersport" Ninjas have inline 4.....their ZX Ninja collection.
