The same installation procedure should also apply to locomotives using the same chassis that some other Athearn models use (SD80MAC, SD70ACU, SD9043MAC). Models with deck mount ditch lights will have LEDs in the housing while those with pilot mounts will have the LEDs on a light board on the chassis, making 2 90-degree turns via light pipes but tend to be very dim because of the 20K ohm resistors on the stock 21MTC board

My biggest and favorite loco, I've got several of these on my ho layout, with different roadnames and one that was undecorated 👍

Well done video! I'm currently waiting on the 2 Loksound 5 decoders for my two SD90's to arrive. Can't wait to run them.

Thanks so much, I am installing DCC/Sound on a DCC ready Athearn Genesis SD70ACe this showed everything that I was worried about but now I know how to do it, thanks I’m going to put Sound in it this video helped a lot because I was worried I’d do something dumb and mess up my model, again thanks!

Thanx for review. Next time remove the round sticker from the chip. The heat can better dissipate then. I do it every time. Max.

Beautiful work on your decoder and LED installations on several locomotives. NICE! Where do you get your LokSound in Canada? I need a V5.0 and the prices seem quite steep now (June 2020). Wondering if you found a more reasonably prices vendor... Also, for LokSound 5.0, is the 'keep alive' included with it or it is still a pricey addition if you want it?

What CV changes did you make to CV51-CV56? I put in LokSound 5 and am trying to tune it for more prototypical movement. Regards, NS.

0:31 Is that some type of Doppler effect or just two very similar sounding K3LAs?
@DBRXCustomRailroadModels4 жыл бұрын
It's doppler effect, created using a custom horn template.

@@DBRXCustomRailroadModels How did you do it?
@DBRXCustomRailroadModels4 жыл бұрын
@@amtrak706 You just create a copy of the horn template sound slot you are using, assign the copied slot to another function button, and speed up the playback by 2% or 3%
