Enjoy the F-4E's surprise debut at this year's Virtual International Air Festivals! Flown by Grayson Frohberg - the voice of JESTER AI - we hope you'll enjoy this look at the powerful F-4E dancing around the sky.
All audio is captured in-game, except for the F-4 OST snippets and announcer voices.

I don’t think people realize how genius this idea is, showcasing an aircraft not yet out at a public event just like most companies do at Paris or Dubai airshows. Great way to sell their aircraft module!

Well the thing is they polish 3d models once close to release. But heatblur did this for the second time. As f14 was first introduced to us the exact same way. Can’t wait for ef2000 intro at next year one? (Too much hope? XD ) Tho i would agree that razbam, could have use this. Aerges did some airshow with the sexy mirage f1 too btw.

You're right it's the entire point of airshows so they are literally just doing what Aviation companies do IRL. You show off your aircraft around the world at airshows to build interest in it and hopefully get international sales.

Damn, I was a jet engine mechanic on F4Es at MacDill AFB in the middle 70s. We were the 1st Fighter Wing but were changed to the 56th Wing when the F15 wing finally formed. I had forgotten about the leading edge slats since they were a pretty big deal at first. I have a small scar on my head from the knife edge seal that jumped out to attack me. Totally unprovoked. So many memories.

My old man was a USMC Phantom Phixer on F-4Bs with VMFA-115, the "Silver Eagles", based at Chu Lai in Nam from 1966-67 and I have dreamed of a full fidelity sim of this old beast since he told me about "his" pilot Smokey taking him up for a farewell flight before he rotated back to The World and him telling me that breaking mach in the Phantom was the single baddest ass experience of his life. I literally burnt out our Beta Max tape of Top Gun as a kid so I was jacked for the DCS F-14 but I am even more hyped for the F-4, USAF puke E-model or not lol And btw, this is a helluva long shot but the DCS community contains a lot of longtime aviation community/military vets and since my pops kicked it when I was just about to turn 11 I never knew Smokey's actual name but if any of you guys are aware of a USMC pilot with the call sign "Smokey" that served with VMFA-115 in the Nam gimme a reply. Anyways, can't wait for this bird and will be in the air on Day One!!!

This just slapped my face with a core memory: My father was a crew chief on RF-4C's. I used to go with him to air shows and the Reno Air Races, and this is so damn spot on. @Lungolords

I know, the only thing I can think of for their next module most likely being the A-6E is a briefing room you can enter before flight and maybe ground crew working around the plane when you remove chocks and connect/disconnect gpu

performance is always the highest bar to clear, but aside from that, I think the next logical step is having modularity to a point where development CAN branch out and just update the plane creating new versions without fundamentally rewriting the plane. @@writerrhino166 He ejected on the deck. Chute went down right in the middle of the fireball but he came running out about 30 seconds later. Had a scratch on his nose from the visor. They had another incident a few weeks later. The Thunderbirds had their problems in the F4 too. All Phantoms were grounded worldwide briefly to see what was up. I think they just decided those kind of maneuvers were a bad idea that close to the ground and put out advisories to keep it high. The Angels went to the A4 and the T Birds to the T38. Both those planes while not being as badass to watch were much better suited to tight, precise airshow flying. A side note. I was 12 when that happened and I was with a school buddy before flying began that day. Standing in front of the parked Angels he told me he had a feeling one would crash AND that it would be #5. Of course I rolled my eyes but then did I ever learn.

What a unique way to experience history, especially in a time where people seem to want to just forget what it all meant to put the nation’s best minds to a task, historical involvement with other nations, arms dealing where and why, and why the approaches in engineering were taken. Especially excited for the Intruder and whenever possible, the Eurofighter. KEEP IT UP!

Station at Ramstein from 86 to 95 and the F4s were just transitioning to F16s at that time. Still had the opportunity to watch the Phantoms fly before they moved on. Zweibrucken AB, about an hour west of Ramstein, flew F4 Wild Weasels. Deployed them to Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 90/91 then they went away as well. Thanks for making this aircraft available!

The first two squadrons ( 36 aircraft ) of the H.A.F. ( Greece ) delivered in the years 1974 and 1975, were equipped with the older ( smocking ) engine : J-79-17A and only the third squadron of 18 aircraft was equipped with the J-79-17E/G. In the year 2000, 36 of the remaining F-4E of the H.A.F. ( Greeece ), were upgraded by German and Israeli companies up to the F-4E/AUP standard and all the engines of those 36 aircraft were upgraded to the smokless version.

What a way to memorialize and celebrate such a historic and storied aircraft-DCS really is a wonderful aviation museum. It's kinda funny, I'm so used to the Phantom's generational position leaving it often portrayed as sluggish and clumsy in decades' worth of arcade flight games before typically being traded in for something more advanced, so it'll be a delight and a vindication to experience a much more accurate and agile recreation of its flight characteristics and correct that tacit mental impression. Can't wait for this one~

Incredible work!!! I flew F-4E phantom 20 years ago in South Korea and this reminds me of pleasant memories at that time. I’m curious if DCS implemented phantom’s unique aural tone sound indicating AOA.

I always wanted to fly the F4 when I was a kid. We had F4's at the Air National Guard unit where I grew up, but it was taken out of service before I went on active duty. Thank you Heatblur for making a small dream come true, by making this module for DCS! And yes mine is pre-ordered... the day it was released for pre-order... lol
