I actually thought the first one suffered from the disjointed production schedule. It doesn't quite feel like it came together the way it wanted to. Still, I love that movie, warts and all. But I highly approve them taking the time to polish the next script.

The beauty of "that scene" from All Stars is that he could just catch them after they jump, but then he wouldn't actually save them, he'd just be delaying the inevitable. So him talking someone down from doing something like that, would make it their choice instead of his own, that's how one would actually save somebody with compassion instead of force. Trust above control. It could even the the opening scene of the movie, showing the audience what kind of movie they're in for going forward, one that would Ballance the emotional heavy stuff with the humour, which is where Gunn shines as a writer.

PS: Would be in stark contrast to how The Boys satirised the very same scenario with Homelamder, for people who (wrongfully) expect Gunn's Superman to be exactly that, because of past things like Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad in the DC Universe.

My theory about Peacemaker season 2: it’s not season 2 of Peacemaker. It might be a revival of the series that’s not uploaded to Max as season 2, but rather its own thing. And it might not even be called “season 2”. If that makes sense lol

I'm not gonna be mad if the S is on the cape, but I don't see it looking it good. It's like seeing American flags in people's yards. Thanks for letting me know where you live, but like its pretty obvious and just looks kinda dumb. He's already got a big S on his chest, does he really need one on his cape? Is he gonna lose it and so wants his initials on it so it can be returned? Anyway, I'm not gonna be mad if it's there, I just don't see it looking good.

I'm Just happy that EVERY SINGLE PROJECT from now on, will be connected to the main grand story of DCU . That never happened before in DC. Superman will have some sort of impact on Peacemaker and Peacemaker s2 will lead to Waller , also creature commandos will maybe linked to superman as well . How many times does Gunn have to explain this? The Peacemaker from season 2 is on a different timeline (DCU) then the Peacemaker from season 1 (DCEU). They may share the same character events but they are two different characters on different timelines. Not sure what is so confusing.

Eve Teschmacher is a really interesting character, though I have only seen her in the Reeve movies and Supergirl. But I’m strangely excited for her. I feel like she brings an extra dimension to Luthor. He’s not so interesting if he’s totally isolated. The villains need their own worldbuilding.

If the DCU takes from Justice League Unlimited and Kingdom Come then we're in for a treat. Though it seems confusing now, the DC has long been disconnected. Take a look at MAX and see how many universes are out there. The multiverse idea is fine, but we need one big universe and with Gunn, I have hopes that we'll get that.

The impression I get is that it's a hard reboot, but the new world, the new universe still has some similarities with the Snyderverse, not unlike how in comics you have vastifly different earth, except for a few details sharing.

I think some events from "The Suicide Squad" and "Peacemaker" Season 1 still happened in some form in the new timeline. My own assumption at this point is that it would be something like how some events from both "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" and "Wolfenstein" (2009) still happened in the newer Wolfenstein games' timeline, but the events of the older games are never addressed or do not matter too much. As for "Peacemaker" Season 2, I think the events that would carry over to the new timeline would include Peacemaker killing his dad and Rick Flag Jr., and Waller being exposed to the public. By "not canon," James Gunn means that while some events of the first season (and by extension "The Suicide Squad") still happened as is, the newer seasons would take precedence in case of any contradictions. People overthink the issue: Judi Dench was M in both Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig James Bonds movies and average moviegoers just rolled with it, so I think it would be fine as long as the movies and the series are good.

I feel like it’d be cool if they made Wally West be the current flash in the DCU with Bart Allen as his sidekick and had Grant play as the dcu’s version of Barry in flashbacks. They could have Bart be a member of the Teen Titans and have him go from being Kid Flash to Impulse since Damian’s going to be the current robin

Do you think possibly that Reeves has the script finished but doesn’t want to say anything to try and keep extra tight security on leaks and stuff getting out? because they could possibly ruin other projects? What if reeves says a character or something about part 2 and it ruins a big reveal etc in the Penguin series or something since it’s going to influence sequel?

I really don't know why people are making this confusing - on one hand, everyone can look over to Marvel and see the multiverse and understand different universes where different events happened, different decisions were made by THE SAME CHARACTERS (there's a WHOLE Deadpool movie coming out revolving around this) but when it comes to DC suddenly people get a case of the dumbarse and can't understand how some elements of the DCEU and Peacemaker will remain in the new universe. Like this is seriously - not - hard 👀 But I appreciate you Boba for even taking the time to address such things.

I think we, as the most terminally online fans, GREATLY overestimate the importance of how all these projects line up and fit together. I think most of the general audience doesn’t care at all, they just want to see good stories. Most people won’t scrutinize Peacemaker S2 like that, and honestly neither should we as long as the story is good.

I feel like all this fussing over what is and isn't "canon" is a distraction. I don't see anyone getting any pleasure out of it, but it's really getting in the way of everyone's fun. Who cares if Peacemaker got his start in an abandoned run of stories? What does it matter which bits of backstory are still "official," and which are wiped? It only matters if the new shows and films don't deliver stories that hold up on their own, and need us to know the previous continuity to make sense. And if that were the case, they would still be failures. I think someone made a great point that the "Peacemaker... what a joke" moment in The Suicide Squad is the foundation of that character. But the thing is, no one is taking The Suicide Squad out of print. Anyone discovering Peacemaker through the new season can go watch the film if they like. If they're curious about the previous Suicide Squad, it's available. Does that mean those movies, that Joker, etc, etc, are all "canon" to the new DCU? It depends on whether you think canon is more important than quality. I don't see any reason they can't just replace Jared Leto's Joker with a new one (my new frontrunner is Austin Butler, if anyone is interested.) And if anyone wonders why he's different now, the answer is, "Just enjoy the movie you're watching." Which is, incidentally, what was said to the three people confused why Ed Norton didn't play Bruce Banner in the Avengers. Bottom line is, this is all fiction, and canon is and has always been a tenuous notion anyway. Sherlock Holmes canon changed based on what Arthur Conan Doyle could remember of his previous scribblings, which wasn't much. It's still one of the greatest series of stories in pop culture. Superhero canon is a ridiculous notion, as practically every aspect of these characters' histories mutates over the decades. Did the X-Men still begin in 1961? That would make Scott Summers 80 years old. Canon isn't real. It's fun toy to play with, but it should never be treated as a responsibility for the writers to adhere to over quality. Keep the good if you can, forget the forgettable, and above attend the stories being told right now. The good ones stand on their own, whether or not they adhere to what we expect. Of course, until the new films start appearing, overthinking this stuff is all people have, so I totally understand. I just don't think it should be encouraged.

I will be so surprised if we actually get a sequel to The Batman. I honestly don't think it will happen. I love the film. I even bought the 'art of' book. It's just been so long I don't see it happening at this point.

If The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker was more standalone, all this uncertainty wouldn't be festering. Peacemaker shouldn't have included the Justice League cameo at all. Gunn was given a little too much control and yeah if Warner Bros wasn't after money and just focused on putting out the very best content, they could have seen earlier the importance of James Gunn to their future DC studios plans

I really hope the batman universe will stay in its own world and separate from the DCU. Because batman can work in both a grounded movie and the other where he exists with gods and aliens.
