The Skull Merchant's dad was the author of an unsuccessful "dark Brazilian manga" and partway through writing it, left without a trace. The Skull Merchant would later adopt the mantle of the main character of that manga when she would go to kill anyone impeding her career, and found that she revelled in the bloodshed, leading to her being taken by The Entity to the world of Dead by Daylight.

The singularity is so cool, the sci fi horror genre was great. the idea that the singularity is an AI that became sentient is super cool. It also has amazing voicelines and one of the best moris in the game

skull merchant was a neat idea that kinda got mixed up and confused along the way. doesn't help that gameplay wise she ended up emphasizing the most boring aspects of the game. it's nice seeing a bit of enthusiasm for her though from a fresh perspective, i just hope she gets reworked

The name is cool and it felt like the idea behind her was good but have heard lots of talk about how bad her gameplay was which is unfortunate. Usually with new characters they get reworked fast so people spend that cash 💰

Fun Facts: The Singularity’s real name is Hux-A7-13, which might be a reference to the fact that 13 is an unlucky number, like Friday the 13th. Out of topic, I was supposed to be born on Friday the 13th! But I was born 6 days earlier :(

Tools of Torment had a protest in the fanbase too lol, its regarded as one of the most disliked DLC's due to its loose nature in terms of lore, and at first release was a bit miserable as the killer was (and still is but not to the same degree) able to just kinda sit there the entire match and tower defense the gens.

Yes! They are BHVR’s versions of Alien VS Predator. If you notice, they swapped the aesthetics of each. Predator was a very male character but they switched it to female. Alien used to be very female and birth related but they switched it to bulky and male.

The new characters' reception has been a definite mixed bag, the hero have been generally well received but the killers are generally perceived as either boring reskins in the case of the Collector or too fiddly and weird in the case of the Singularity; also people were expecting the actual SOMA game characters and instead got "-alikes", which they were not happy with.

Unfortunately the current chapter and the last chapter(tools of torment) were/aren’t very popular. Obviously end transmission is still its early stages but people either don’t care or dislike it because you barely see the new killer even though they just came out. People also heavily disliked the skull merchant for being boring to play as/against. Her design also isn’t that great imo.

The community sadly did not care for the Skull Merchant as much as they should have due to their expectations for a robot killer. Her lore is very well written however and she’s a character study in what a serial killer shaped by modern day media could be like.

If you dislike the content of the lore, that means it’s not up you alley, not that it is bad. If you want to review the lore, I’d love to hear your input as well as your history with story telling, writing, and character design. Does that mean I should know how to make a food before judging how it tastes? Or make a movie before criticizing it? And I think your definition of "well written" and "actually good" must be different, because there is no way in hell you actually think just because it might be in depth or the writers put in effort to make the character, it means the backstory is anything but laughable.

@@DiZphunx You are dismissed. Gordon Ramsay’s opinion of food is worth more than a bulimic chain smoker or an obese stress eater. They did put so much depth into her character. We understand her life and her psychology very well. The story even starts with her parents, specifically her father, as to build the setting for what becomes her home life. We follow Adriana from before she is born all the way through her life until she disappears into the entity’s realm. Not only this but her story hinges on some unique elements that has not been captured before and that is how a person in the modern age, bombarded by media, can be shaped by it. That and she mirrors those in real life who have the funds to cosplay. I can think of furries as a prime example. They are usually very intelligent and land high paying jobs which they use to fund their incredibly expensive fur suits and commission works of art of their character. Again, discuss her lore intelligently. Show me where the bad writing is. Show me where the artists failed to do their research. Instead of saying it is bad and laughable, tell me why. Give your viewpoint some validity, pleeeeaaaaasssseeee.

Honestly you guys had the great idea to just ignore Tools of Torment. It’s the worst chapter ever with the worst killer since 2018 Legion. Mid perks on both sides, good-looking survivors I guess, but nothing special. But oh god is Skull Merchant just the worst. She is so boring to both play as AND against, and her power is boring too. Not to mention her design 😬 she is just so bad that she wasn’t even mentioned in the anniversary stream 😂 Also you guys should have included the Nic Cage reveal trailer in this!
