While the Japanese history of rhythm games was undergoing its early stages, over in Korea another game was following in Bemani's footsteps and establishing a legacy of its own. What followed was the story of a game tied at the hip to the Korean arcade industry. This is EZ2DJ.

It was very interesting to be able to see a game I have enjoyed for a long time organized from a foreigner's perspective. Also, although it seems like you had quite a bit of trouble compiling the data, I was surprised that most of the information was accurate. In particular, it is truly surprising that the story of the 'Sea Story slots Game', which was a dark time for arcades, and the story of the 'producers who willingly participated in the production despite not receiving fair wages' in a specific version were highlighted. Thank you very much for making a great video!

the biggest issue with the game was it required an isa slot for the game io. if they had made a version of the game io that connected via pci or hell, usb, the issues with the internal pc would not have been an issue since the game required an isa slot on the motherboard (basically requires ancient hardware)

But unfortunately, this is minor game, when all machines that can play this game are disappeared in some day, this will be time that ez2ac terminated. I dont know what time will be.... Anyway thanks. Just a tidbit of knowledge: Long notes in beatmania were specifically introduced in beatmania IIDX 17: SIRIUS. So not only did it take them until IIDX to do it, it also took them 17 versions of it (18 if you count substream).

So happy someone decided to document this series. Ez2dj is actually an amazing series and it’s a shame not many people got to play it outside of Korea. It definitely was limping ever since its initial release, but you can see the passion and love poured in from the developers over the years. Sad to see the game die the way it did, but it still lives on as ez2on.

There's something you forgot to mention: The 2021 RZ2ON version (Reboot:R), as its name suggests, it's a reboot of the original EZ2ON, that ran from December 2008 to October 2009.

Thank you very much for this video! Very detailed, maybe a bit rushed about the part when it became EZ2AC, but just... I can't put it to words how interesting it was to watch and listen. Too bad that first EZ2ON and Reboot weren't mentioned at all but I can kinda understand why. I initially thought it's just Konami lawsuit that almost killed the game, and to discover that it was a bumpy road even without it... Oh boy, truly a miracle how EZ2 survived all this time. Gotta say, the EZ2ON Reboot R is awesome. It also had a bumpy release when early access started but right now, it's the game that is on par or even better with DJMAX Respect V, imo.

Kind of surprised the original EZ2ON was not talked about here. Though, one thing I heard was that Reboot:R had a scary early development... along with the horrible early access launch which I was there. We knew it was early access but it was wild how they delayed the launch for a couple more hours along with the game somewhat being playable. Seeing ez2on as the continuation for the series, I don't mind it, of course a lot of the AC stuff will be missed.

The moment IIDX removed the 5-key assist mod as of Rootage, the EZ2AC series was about to release its final versions, putting an end to 5-key DJ simulation games. I just hope Konami revives beatmania III with new arcade (and possibly home) versions while taking a different approach at releases. IIDX is known for its yearly releases, but if beatmania III gets revived, making a game every two or three years would be more beneficial, allowing its player base to keep growing and give them far more time to play these arcade versions before a new one comes out. This was the problem with yearly releases of IIDX, and I remember a time when my chauffeurs simply refused to take me to Round1 to play more of that one IIDX version before it got replaced weeks after. (That was when Epolis replaced Resident.)

The genre distribution of the songs in this work strangely overlaps with Beatmania Complete Mix. The genre distribution of the songs is similar, as well as the difficulty distribution of the genres. Especially Do You Remember? It can be seen that the influence of e-motion is strong for Rave as a genre . Otherwise, there is no reason to present rave as a genre rather than a music genre. Comparing the genres of the songs in Beatmania Complete Mix and the songs in EZ2DJ 1st is as follows. Although it is not related to the recorded songs, the system that allows you to play a specific song on the next song only when you pass a certain score on a specific stage is also influenced by Beatmania. ||genre||Beatmania||EZ2DJ|| ||Hiphop||[[u gotta groove]]||[[Get the beat]]|| ||Dance pop||Believe again(English in Korea)||[[Look out ~Here comes my love~]]|| ||Reggae|[[Jam Jam Reggae]]||[[You love the life you live]]|| ||Break-bts||2 gorgeous 4U||[[Mystic Dream 9903]]|| ||TECHNO||OVERDOSER||[[Minus 1]]|| ||Ballad||[[Do you love me?]]||[[Yes Yes]]|| ||Funky Jazz||Stop Violence!||[[Funny Funky]]|| ||House|[[20,november]]||[[Stay]]|| ||House||wild I/O||[[I've Fallen]]|| ||Rave||[[e-motion]]||[[Do You Remember?|Do You Remember]]|| ||DnB||[[Super Highway]]||[[Quake in Kyoto]]|| ||Bossa/Samba||La Bossanova de Fabienne||[[Confete]]||

what is space mix?
@AstralPhnx
@AstralPhnx Ай бұрын
Space Mix is basically the 14 Key mode. 14 keys, two turntables, no foot pedals because that would be a bit TOO Insane (although that didn't stop them adding andromeda mix into Codename Violet 2 later on which is all 14 keys AND both food pedals as a literal joke mode)
