Watching this one once again as we're days away from going back to Land Run for the National Championships. I want to thank you for being the ambassador you are for this sport. You don't realize how many people you are touching. You offer knowledge that is not only great for the new shooter, but for the ones who have been doing this for years and who are searching for that 'something' that will help them take it up a notch. Not only are you helping the shooters...you're helping the shooting clubs. We've had several new shooters show up in the last few months that have watched and learned from your videos and were pretty competent coming out for their very first match. So please...keep vlogging. :) You don't have to do a big production for all of your big matches, but keep the info flowing. You're a natural teacher. Thank you!

Dead Eye, Thanks for the videos, and for hanging in there. My wife and I have been Cowboy shooting since 2002 and, while not "top Shooters", I doubt anyone has more fun than we do at the matches. We love playing Cowboy but more than that, it is the people we have met through this sport. I never searched for Cowboy Action videos on KZfaq, but during the pandemic when we couldn't shoot, started to watch a few. Yours popped up through the "Algorithmic Magic" of KZfaq and we both really enjoy both the match reports and educational videos you post. Keep up the Good Work, Dogmeat Dad and Lil Feathers!

Nearly all the regional, state and national shoots in Australia have been cancelled both last year and this year due to the pandemic and being able to come along with you to Land Run was something special for me. Please, if you can, keep it coming. I have brand new shooters at my monthly match in Regional Queensland, Australia saying to me "I found out about this because of Deadeye in the states". You're a special person. Hope to see you on the range in the future. Cheers Deadwood Gunslinger

NOZ Be aware that the shooters shown are some of the best in the game. Scores in the low 30s or 20s are more common and there will be shooters that turn in 50 to 60 second stages. It is a fun weekend whether you win or not. If nothing else the shooters express their sense of humor in their costuming. An example would be one shooter (with permission from the match directors) that shot his Winchester 101 over and under shot gun that was slightly modified by attaching 2 sets of barrels side by side so that it fired 2 barrels at the same time. It was called his "Dragon Gun" He wore a lady's red high heeled shoe on a chain around his neck. That was his lucky whore's shoe. You'll see "soiled dpves" in bar girls costumes to ladies in elaborate ball gowns to men in kilts and full homemade buckskins. In cold weather I have been know to shoot in a possum skin hat. It's a hoot. Can be described as a "party where a gunfight broke out" or a "gunfight where a party broke out" I shot it for several years until I got myself so broken up that the size of the range defeated me. Won my category, FRONTIERSMAN" a few years back with average scores in the low 40s.

Thanks for these videos! They're a big reason why I got started in SASS! But would it at all be possible to do a video on the non-gun equipment? Specifically the holster and ammo belt setup? I'm confused about what's legal, which rigs to spend the money on, and the regulations regarding the materials used for holsters. Elastic shotshell holders okay? How far can a drop leg rig go down the leg? Do I need two belts? One for ammo (mainly shot shells) and one for the handguns?
@DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting3 жыл бұрын
That's awesome to hear! I hope to make a video like that eventually, for now though, the SASS handbook or any one of your local shoot should be able to help you out!

Hey Deadeye. Can You tell me what particular camera You are using to film this shots? I am looking for some upgrade from mobile phone for my own work. Your material is looking very good in terms of technical quality (and your films are generally most informative source in terms of shooting technique as well when it comes to SASS in web).
@DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm using a Sony ZV-1 for "normal" shots (talking, vlog, slomo) and an Insta360 for the stage runs.
@oldschoolguns76343 жыл бұрын
@@DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting Thanks for info. Are You using Insta x2 or One R with 360 module? Personaly I lean towards the second one becaouse you get 4k module with better slo-mo in the same price as x2.
@DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting3 жыл бұрын
I'm using the One R, the idea of upgrades down the road sold me. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened. Today I'd by the X2, I never use the action cam module. Though, If you don't have anything that can shoot high frame rate, it's comparable to a gopro.
@oldschoolguns76343 жыл бұрын
@@DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting As far as I know You cannot have access to usb socket when using lens protector on x2. So you cannot plug some exterior power or mic during work so this is bad design by my book. I probably stick with One R too Some kind of slo-mo better than my phone will be nice to (with 4k module) to I will try this route. For this season it should work. Maybe later I will expand with something better for vlogging part...
