In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/casey-c/mapmarks

Your comment about Defect requiring ~10000 hours of gameplay to master was very humbling and reassuring. I main Defect as I find them to be the most fun character, have about 800 hrs total game time and still feel like I'm learning constantly. I'd say I win about 1 in 4 A20H runs with Defect now and recently achieved a PB win streak of 3 :D

I've had several fun runs on the Ascension grind for Ironclad now that I have my favorite character, the Silent up to A11, where I had a dead branch + corruption deck and I've been consistently thinking "What would Baylor do". My favorite tomfoolery was a deck I had where I had two flash of steels and two headbutts and the plan was to make an infinite with that. That deck was great

Wow I’m a relatively new player and I’ve been stuck on Acension 10 with ironclad. Watching one of your videos and analyzing your moves I just beat A10 on my first try tonight! Thanks for posting videos. Really helped me out

Congrats on A10! What made me a better Ironclad player was watching Baalor’s tier list of every ironclad card. Afterward, I took a screenshot of his tier list and based a lot of my card picks off of it. I’d say the list is still 95+% accurate to what he’d rank the cards today.

Buy Fairy in a Bottle in Act 1 to allow us to greed an upgrade at 4hp before Slimbo then go wild in Act 2. Release Fairy after killing Heart.

I just started playing and wanna main the one that uses stances after i unlocked everything on every character. Any hints to unlock everything with every character? I found your channel trough looking something up and i never see you play this character

Play and win on each character. Not heart, just act 3.

You’ll progress on the unlocks even on defeat. Think you have to get to or beat the heart on the first three characters to unlock The Watcher.

Hey, this probably isn't likely, but does anyone know when he started doing the Card Mastery challenge exactly? I really want to watch all of them, eventually lol, but I have no idea where to start. I just started playing STS

As far as I know, it was a 2023-specific challenge, so I think your best bet would be to look at videos from almost exactly a year ago. Should be somewhere in there.

34:43 please allow me to explain. What’s happening here is super common. He got flustered when he was taking that 20 bipity bop right to the face….. he knew that turn that he needed to do a dad joke. He was thinking of one while the turn was happening. When. He realized he couldn’t dodge any of that 20 to the face. Then he panicked. He couldn’t think of a joke and his brain told him that he couldn’t think of one. Then he got nervous because he needed to get a dad joke out. What happened next all the way until he breaks this trance is that he is trying to think of a dad joke still. But all his brain will let him think is “you should’ve been able to think of one.. why couldn’t you think of one earlier?” So while he’s trying to think a different thought his mind keeps racing back to the statement I just said. It happens to me all the time. I’ll try really hard to think of the thing I was supposed to be figuring out and my brain will tell me this and the harder I try to think of it the further it slips away and the less I am able to compute anything. So he is completely brain dead here in this moment. 😂😂 it literally looks like some type of software is going to have to completely shutdown and reboot. His long sips of whatever is in the cup. His movements. His eyes looking everywhere but focusing on nothing. He’s completely shutdown. 😂 kinda funny to see it last so long on someone.
