Well, the equivalent for us would be putting on sound cancelling headphones which is like a pressing feeling to us, whereas for her, having both hearing aids in creates the same feeling, but she hears most things. And taking them out would take some recalibrating of how loud she should be (which is especially hard when you can't hear 😂)

It was probably invented by a student at Eton College. It is composed as a compound of the Latin words floccus (flake), naucum (nutshell), nihilum (nothing) and pilus (hair), all of which signify something lesser, worthless, and the suffix -fication. The word was first used literarily in 1741 by the English writer William Shenstone. Says the German Wikipedia

@@maijakelly8335 yeah, I'm calling us weird, just look up the "busted a plugger" interview about a foiled robbery. Us Aussies are a delightfully weird bunch. My reference was to the word library... Between the US and UK you get one pronouncing every letter (2 r's), the other says ly-berry, we come out with ly-bree. Our speech is lazy, we're the only ones I can think of that have an abbreviation for an abbreviation (Melbourne cricket ground > MCG> the G)

I've been binging all your videos this week at work and this one has already slipped into my favourites pile.
