@@roems6396 No though... They don't know or understand what they're even smiling at. Who knows why they're smiling, was it the newly found sensory info? we don't know. I was born hearing. Now I'm getting some real hearing aids , but after I learned sign lagunage. They wanted me to get cochlear implant. I looked at the process and turned it down. I'll go for some hearing aids , but since they are called aids , i never could get them thru my insurance. To expensive. I'll get some soon, but I've become adjusted to being silent.

Beautiful, I’ve often wondered what people’s reactions were like when they were healed by Jesus. Modern medicine is amazing. It’s still not the same, people were made whole, when Jesus intervened. Today we see what can be done with technology. Don’t get me wrong this is very touching and I love it. I just can’t help but wonder how thankful some of those people were, that were touched by God.

It must be so much all at once. You were locked out of the world of sound, and the impact that had on your life and view of yourself in the world...as well as just being able to hear sound must be like a new universe or something becoming available to you. I watched a video of color blind people being able to see color and they cry as well. It makes sense and is incredibly moving to watch.

For older deaf people who have never heard language before, it is a language they've never heard before. They have to learn to speak and hear. My sister was deaf and had the choice, but chose not to. Money is not happiness at all. If you want to help anyone do as Jesus said. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. I don’t have any money. I’m a true follower of Jesus and I help who I can when I can. You will be surprised how much you can help with so little. What people need is not wealth, power or special technology. They need love, kindness, mercy and truth. You can give with nothing. If you want to truly help then do as Jesus told you. First obey the Ten Commandments this is the vital first step to showing love to both God and your neighbour. After you start keeping the commandments God will bless you with the Holy Spirit who will lead you to helping so many more. If you are serious about helping others then you will take the instruction I’ve given you serious. If you are not serious about helping others your actions will show as such.

So I have a question. I mean no disrespect, just do not know the answer. If a person has been deaf since birth, and the get an implant at say 20 years old, and then can hear for the first time, do they understand spoken word or do they have to learn what the sounds mean? I would think you would hear sound, and hence voices, but you would not be able to parse the sound into words if you have never heard those words before. Is that right?
@mandyb
@mandyb 4 ай бұрын
They have to learn the sounds. It takes time and it is a different experience for everyone. I remember when I first heard sounds for the first time. It was overwhelming, and I had to learn what the sounds belonged to.

@mandyb But some of the people seem to know the sounds of the words such as the man who knew the colors. And in other videos they knew right away what the words were.
@mandyb
@mandyb 3 ай бұрын
@@SB06184 Still, it is different for everyone. Reading lips helps with knowing the sounds of some words, but not all. I knew the sound of some words when I got my first hearing aid and heard voices and sounds for the first time. But I still had to learn other sounds. Like I said, different for everyone. :)
