I was trained to reframe "resistance" as feedback and information about what the client actually needs. What's the edge about? What's the quality of the stuckness? What's the pattern happening? Is there something happening in the relationship, are there roles being unconsciously enacted? How to bring that to light? What could be right about their resistance? Why might they have good reason to be that way?

This is a very good point. I feel like framing it as "resistance" gives the slight impression to me that you may be a little overconfident that you're Definitely right and the client is just being "difficult", and I don't think that's a helpful approach or attitude to have.

IFS is awesome. CBT is definitely not going to cut it with me. Great video. This is a client's perspective.

Thank you for the video!❤ solution focused approach because it assumes that the client knows better their life and what would help them the most, including- what they are ready for right now - so resistance usually shows that we’re off track and missing something…

Wow I want to do exactly what you do once I get the degree. Private practice and generating income through social media. It’s intimidating seeing how well you do it because it’s like… why do something that is already being done so well!

This was great. I loved seeing the different ways to approach one topic. I have always found how theorists conceptualize a situation from their perspective fascinating and useful depending on the client.

YES i loved this. Please do more✨. One note - when you’re doing the therapy interaction segment, could you bring your eyeline higher? As if you’re meeting your clients eyes in the next clip? That was the only thing distracting me because you’re looking down. Great video (and acting ;))

I so agree! I was cringing through the edit of that part. 🙃 I was reading from my laptop as a teleprompter and of course I needed to hurry off to a meeting while filming so I had a "make it work" moment and pushed through quickly rather than fixing it. But it's definitely off!
