The first caller is the one lacking competency not being able to explain his situation simply 😂

RIGHT? And believing in your strengths/talents doesn't mean you treat people poorly, it just means you are confident and you know you can get the job done! Having an ego does not mean you are an egomaniac.

First caller is a weak leader clearly but I did understand him on the employee not understanding the theory behind the work. Sir, that’s the different between paying for a helping hand vs a practitioner of the craft! Practitioners understand the theory not just the tactic.

Is sounds like the employee needs classroom education. He is able to do the procedures, but doesn’t know where to apply it. He lacks confidence and independence, and he should. Confidence with no reason gets us in trouble.

Also it’s unreasonable to have “important conversations” during the lunch break.

Exactly!! The employee rightfully believes his lunch break is his own time. The employer maybe violating labor laws by considering it training time.

As a tradesman who’s worked for a lot of guys like this first…Dave is 100% spot on. This dude is a typical manager in the trades these days: thinks their sh%# don’t stink, overly critical, concerned with subjectiveness over the way you do your work if you have another way. I’ve quit multiple shops like this guys.
@genxx2724
@genxx2724 Жыл бұрын
Idk . . . trades are done in a methodical fashion, and if you’re doing your own thing, it complicates later maintenance and repairs. I’ve seen millennials and younger insisting their incorrectness in various areas is “doing it another way”. Lack of standards in the home and in schools is going to undermine our country’s infrastructure.
@screwdriver_bandit
@screwdriver_bandit Жыл бұрын
@@genxx2724 you can still have standards and not be a weak leader like this caller. But it’s guys like this who them complain they can’t find anybody. Yes- many of the young guys are lazy. You have to be patient with these younger cats. I’ve trained some and most of the time the problem is guys like this who can’t get their hand out of their mouth and communicate correctly. If you talk to them in a way they understand they can do what’s asked. This guy thinks everyone’s a mind reader.
@genxx2724

For the first caller they should have separate, dummy reader boards set up and show every new employee how the wiring set up should be done on every reader board and test them before going into the real world of hooking up the wiring

Jacqueline from Phoenix the packages, are they paid up front? If so then they get one less lesson. Example: if they bought 5 lessons and cancel the 3rd then they only get 4. Be firm with your 24 hour period. OR buy 4, hold the dates without cancelation and you get an additional 30 minute class for free....and build that 30 min cost into the 4 class package. Or raise your prices the 10% to eliminate some trouble clients. Swim lessons are a great gift. Great work!

Hi! They are paid up front. Happy to report I’ve started enforcing it for the last six weeks and not one customer has complained. A few disappointed folks, but explaining we’re a small business and have to make sure our people can eat and put gas in their cars has resonated well.

Hey Jacqueline, our infant son’s swim school (whilst not mobile) requires payment in full for the whole term by a certain deadline otherwise you don’t get a spot. It’s also clear then that you’ve paid for the term so psychologically you’ve committed to going to ALL of the lessons. Just thought I’d share. Hope things are improving for you.

The healthcare provider from Buffalo is very idealistic. Be very wary of "The Poor". Unfortunately, helping people is a thankless job and she will be abused and exploited. Latest iPhone in one hand and EBT card in the other is my typical experience especially standing in line at Walmart. They will use her until she is sucked dry and then light her up when she can no longer help or asks for some minimal payment. My wife works at a doctor's office and sees this. Hundreds or thousands in unpaid bills. Commit to a payment plan and then dont follow through. Then they get in their $90K F150 and drive off. Be very very careful.
