Here are some rules Death Battle follows in case you are still curious: 1. Combatants can have no prior knowledge of each other, unless it's canon within the story. It's as if they met in a dark alley one night and now have to kill each other. So this means Goku wouldn't know about the Kryptonite and would think to use it, even if he wanted to, nor would he ever carry it, because Kryptonite doesn't exist in his franchise. 2. To ensure a fair fight, any morals about killing people are ignored. This is to ensure the fight is fair. If it wasn't a rule, a hero would never kill another hero. That's why Batman was willing to kill Spiderman. 3. The battleground is neutral. Both characters are allowed to use their arsenals without restriction, with some mild exceptions. Again, this is to keep the fight fair. So a sun would certainly come into play. Death Battle likes to do this so there are no outside influences and so they can get what they think is a clear answer of who would win. Just sort of imagine a Jedi being unable to use The Force in a fight. It doesn't exist in other franchises, but not allowing it because of that reason would be pretty restricting and not fun to watch. 4. Opponents are allowed their basic arsenals, so one-off things, like Iron Man using the Infinity Gaunlet, aren't used unless supported. 5. There is no outside help allowed, again, with mild exceptions. So Vegeta and Batman aren't coming to the rescue. Future combatants may seem like they are breaking this rule, but it's only accepted when it's part of their normal arsenal, the other combatant is given equal help, the help doesn't matter regardless, or if the help isn't fighting the combatant directly. 6. The fight animation is (mostly) made for entertainment. There are things in the research that are echoed in the fight, but it's essentially just for a fun time. Trying to pick it apart specifically for the result is rather pointless. The Kryptonite would likely never show up at all because neither really carry it. They just put it in there to demonstrate Goku's want for a good fight. It's always the research at the end that determines the winner. Can't wait for more! Death Battle is easily my 2nd favorite internet series and I'm so happy you guys are reacting to it!

Then three years later they both got new powers and they had to do a rematch fight. This one was so debated between the fans so it makes sense for them to do every detail. Almost like the Mario vs Sonic rivalry lol.

One of the things a lot of people misunderstand about Goku and his "fight them at their best" attitude is that it's not *just* about his love of fighting. That's a big part, yeah, but sometimes it's because he wants his OPPONENTS to know that THEIR best is futile. Was the most controversial DB in history. I think it DB learned from (Most) of their mistakes and started to properly research the characters going foward.

There's some good Death Battles. A lot of the recent ones have custom tracks by Brandon Yates who does a lot of versus Mashup character tracks via commission. Gotta say some of the best are Raiden VS Wolverine, Sam VS Snake, Dante VS Bayonetta, Hulk VS Broly, and I love the Blake VS Mikasa fight for the animation and because the track is great.

When Boomstick mentioned about if they had used a Future Goku, they'd have to use Future Superman, who is basically God is an understatement. That version of Superman (From the Superman Prime: One Million series) depicts Superman outliving EVERY single of of his friends, families, allies and such, and takes place in the 853rd Century. As he continued to lose his allies and friends and loved ones, he grew with sadness and passed off his responsibilities to his heirs, Superman Secundus and Kal-Kent, and left Earth. He returned back in the 700th Century, he had gained an IMMENSE amount of new powers and abilities, due to him traveling across the universe AND spending 15,000 years inside the Sun (He once spent 15 minutes inside the sun, so imagine 15,000 years?) and bestowed a portion of his powers to his heirs to form the Superman Dynasty (since him passing a bit of his powers is one of his plethora of new abilities). Superman Prime is also the last known metahuman/being to ever hold a Green Lantern ring (Since once again, an indomitable Will is also one of his newest powers.) I'd recommend to take a look at those series if you want to see an stupidly OP comic book character. The list of his abilities in One Million is ridiculous.

I'd love to see more Death Battle Reactions,specifically Street Fighter's Dan Hibiki vs DBZ's Hercule Satan, Soul Caliber's Nightmare vs Berserk's Guts, and Afro Samurai vs Samurai Jack. They do a great breakdown on characters you don't know anything about including abilities,Lore, character history and traits. I've noticed other people have already suggested you guys check out Dragonball Abridged by Team Four Star, so I'd like to throw another suggestion in from the same group, Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. Only 10 episodes for the entire series, each episode was released on Halloween, so once a year. Since they were also making Dragonball Abridged at the time, you can really see their talent increase just from episode 1 to episode 2.

They did do a great amount of research, but the thing that makes this battle so infuriating to a lot of fans is that their research method was flawed. That they lowballed Goku or highballed Superman through the research methods they used. More prominent would be Gravity Formula they used for Goku. I don’t really care since DC characters are insane and I like Goku more. And the animation was fun. But I would suggest not to take what Death Battle presents as fact, because they have been wrong about other Death Battles before. And it’s just a very entertaining opinion anyways.

In dragon ball sometimes when people power up the weather will change so that's where the clouds come from. The thumbnail for the rematch isn't injustice superman, it's DCEU Superman who isn't evil but just as heroic as his comic book counterpart. As far as the fight seeming one sided, yeah sure but they do a lot of death battles with characters that people have paired against and debated, one of them being Superman vs goku.

Alright this is a minor nitpick on Death Battle from a dragon ball nerd but Goku can definitely not use Kaio-Ken while in Super saiyan 4. It's stated that using the kaio-ken in combination with the rage-fueled Super Saiyan state is too hard to control and is very likely to result in death. Later on in Dragon Ball Super, he is able to use Kaio-ken together with Super Saiyan Blue form because the divine energy from SSB is so relaxed, calm and controlled. But the first time he tries it he's still not sure if he'll survive the attempt.

The newer Death Battles are great too. But word of advice: I'd suggest editing out the transition clips from them because Death Battle themselves have gotten copyright claimed by using them

Yeah, the presence of kryptonite is logical, in context. Goku blasted the Lex Corp building...Where *else* would there likely be any kryptonite in storage? Yep, Goku's fighting stick is magic. Superman can still figure out how to work *around* it though, since it only hurts him if it hits him.

there is also a second video can you watch that too also: 2 things dont really make sense, when superman is close to kryptonite he stays weak for a while he isnt just unstoppable again after the kryptonite is destroyed so he could have breakable bones and shit like that. and the other thing is why does he say "feels like magic" when its not magic? if it was he would die

One of the biggest showdowns between two iconic and very similar characters. Death Battle got this very very wrong in terms of outcome however it is still a very entertaining matchup.

I believe Sam Fisher could have survived that death battle with Snake Plisquin and here is why ok Fisher relies on more than just darkness he also has these hover drones, night vision, some non lethal weapons that stun and knock out enemies without killing .

the problem with comparing manga characters and comic characters is that comic characters are written by a bunch of different people and have a bunch of different versions so they are very inconsistent. just to give an example with superman, originally he couldn't fly, he could just jump very high, but other people misunderstood this and made him fly, people liked that so they kept the flight aspect. meanwhile manga are generally written by a single person and they have a self contained story line so the power levels and feats are more consistent and the power increases gradually.

Except he trained on another kai or possibly higher god's planet for one, likely multiplying gravity again by 10 times already, or more. Furthermore, he had not even powered up yet, and wasn't just moving with it, but actually flying with those 40 tons in whatever x gravity effect the god-realm planet they were on was under. Which also ignores the point that power levels were actually directly said to directly measure their power in the original translation, regardless of later retcons after the fact(pretty much with the release of DB Super, which they didn't even count here). So he's actually many, many, many times tronger than they assumed. But it still doesn't matter, because superman's feats are literal ass-pulls with basically no explanation. One of which pretty much explains that he circles around the universe 200 times in under... Was it 3 or 30 seconds? Something like that. Which puts his power levels way beyond even Goku in theory. As in, Goku's no longer even in the picture, weaker by comparison than an ant is to us. Because Superman is not based on a character progression-based story like Goku. He's the of endless ass-pulls, while Goku is the guy of endless self-improvement. One is admireable, and great story-writing material, and the other is uninteresting in my opinion. Like the ERB said "your powers have been boring since the 19-fkn-40's!" And he also does learn some magic, like telepathy, mind reading, and the instant transmission. He just doesn't give it any serious focus until Super, where he seems to take on "god-ki", which seems to be ki mixed some sort of "divine magic." Overall, he's not talented with magic, or interested in it. PS. Also, Goku ran most of the way on snake-road. Because flying wasted his energy too fast at that point(he was WAAAY weaker back here. Literally billions of times weaker than at his "final form"(SSJ4)). Another youtuber guy also points out that they completely skip over the power-up of one of the transformations in this video. As in, his power is at a stand-still in terms of improvement at one time in this video. Not sure if it was an honest mistake or foul play, because if it was, it'd be pretty pointless(although they seem to do so quite often), as I've already stated - Goku still never cuts close to measuring up to pure ass-pull numbers. Because that's not his actual character. The ground argument is pure nonsense too. Superman does the same. And it's widely accepted that they use their abilities/power to ground them to their surroundings. All the more because you can literally see the pressure from it affect their surroundings, and in some cases see the ground around a large area - Cave to that pressure. Often ending with them hovering above the ground, rather than standing on it. I also recall that bomb being said to be powerful enough to destroy the earth 6 times over, and yet there was still no proof it'd actually kill any of the Z warriors, let alone Cell(The most powerful villain that time, that one of the cyborg intended to use it on. Someone capable destroying solar systems in one shot, and planning to destroy their galaxy in time. Before moving to the next one(proving he could outspeed light by a significant margin)). Except ppl being worried about the uncertainty of what it'd achieve. Though considering they all end up surviving examples of planetary destruction? Dubious... The spirit bomb would be entirely dependant on how it was used/could be used, how much life/positive energy was nearby/if they'd share that energy.

Two things: one, the voices for goku and the other dragonball characters was Team4Star. So if you watch dbzabridged, that's what you can expect lol. I hope you do, it's great..Hopefully multiple episodes at a time because there are a lot. 2nd thing, yet another recommendation. Undertale. If you haven't seen it or played it, I think you'd find it pretty enjoyable! If you do do a playthrough of it, make sure ya get all 3 endings. I won't tell ya how..but yea lol

The Christopher Reeve version is the best. There's nothing cheesy about it. You see it represents the true nature of Superman and it will always be the pillar for The Last Son of Krypton. Henry Cavill did an amazing job as Superman/Clark Kent as those are some big shoes to fill. FYI, the next one is not Evil Superman. It's his New 52 incarnation, which started somewhat around the early to mid 2000 due to a new generation of readers. The Entire DC Continuity was revamped and revamped once more called DC Rebirth.

You can't defeat the power of numbers, as you can clearly see here. I remain "Team Goku" even if the victory of Superman was clear. I like the two old movies, especially the second. "ZOOOOOD!" And the fourth vs Nuclear Man... which was beyond stupid.... But anyway... Goku's will to become stronger and stronger, to experience what is beyond that drives him forward. This realization also reached his old enemy Vegeta, who became a friend. But once Goku also saw that his behavior is a danger to the earth and he sacrificed himself. The funny thing about this fandom is that there are the Dragon Balls, so they can wish everything and everyone back :p To be fair.. thanks to the fans who wants Dragonball never ends, thats because it is still a thing. There were many plots in the show were it should be "the end" but the fans always cry for more. It's fascinating. Their origin story is very very similar, but they could never work together. Goku is not a fighter for justice. He fights to break his limits and protect his friends. Superman's burden is much greater, which makes him depressive and therefore at least as "dangerous" as Goku in his own way. But Goku is just a big kid who wants to have fun and that's why I love him so much. Funfact: There is one another opponent, that Goku never could beat. His wife Chi-Chi :p
