I'm an asexual cis girl but even I would love to be Ian Mckellan. He is basically the greatest person ever.

The moment when Merryl shoots Goldie and Bruce screams - it has caused epic laugh attacks.

If you want a good gay comedy about old guys, "Vicious" would be my top pick, gay old husbands staring Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellen

Bruce Willis' character actually started out as a successful plastic surgeon. It is implied in the film that his marriage to Streep turned sour pretty soon, which lead to a drinking problem, which in turn ruined his career. He only became a mortician after that.

Ian McKellen owns the old gay wizard style.

Oh I remember watching this movie with my family and everyone calling it awful! Me personally? I did dig it! Funny how it can be both movie to empathize with if one is concerned with ones looks... or for a person hating fashion and considering people who are completely obsessed with it to be really weak...making the shenanigans of the 2 lead women to be funny, cause it's like proper punishment... but to be fair, both actresses did an excellent job so they still were really likeable :D

My favourite movie from way back in the day. I saw it in the theatre the first day it was released. Well, my older brother used to pick on me for watching it a lot. He would tell me that the movie was gay. I did not care if it was gay or not, it was my favourite movie. Even our mom liked it!

I find that the most iconic "gay" movies of the past are movies that are unintentionally gay and campy and is not self aware of it's gay appeal like Valley of the Dolls, Auntie Mame, and Mommie Dearest.

No gay characters in the movie? Bitch, please. The proprietor of the beauty clinic Meryl Streep's character frequents and who recommends the services of Lisl von Rumann to her is gay as mardi gras. You know, the one with a twitching eye.

I think the thing that makes DBH have more gay is the fact that many gay men can see the bitchiness and superficialness of the characters Madeline and Helen. The gay community as a whole is known as more superficial, and talks and shows it more easily. I also think that the anti hero vibe with these two women tap into a cruelty we know lurks within us but don't want to be known by. We wish we could be that cruel and villainous but we don't want to be at the same time I think when it comes to Ernest Menville, he's someone who has lost himself and eventually finds himself on his own terms. In a way, so do the women
