When someone like Ian plays such a huge role in the restoration of a home they become a part of your family . He will be greatly missed but never forgotten . He has left a significant imprint on La Lande. Sincere condolences to all 💕

Ian was such a sweetheart, he will be missed. He was an amazing plasterer and did excellent work. My condolences to his fiance', his family and all of you at Lalande. Also please give Amaury my condolences on the loss of his beautiful Phoebe. It is very hard to say goodbye to a furry friend. May you all begin to heal from this very difficult time❤

The Marquis Salon is Ian’s room as well as Amaury’s. It was obvious that Ian loved working on the chateau. A master craftsman revelling in the opportunity to work on an historic building. Condolences to Ian’s family and all at La Lande. A beautiful tribute to a lovely, much loved man.

This is so sad. He was part of the La Lande restoration team. My Mother and I used to restore old buildings together, and when she passed away all our trades guys were her pall- bearers… electrician, decorator etc. This was important to me because we were all part of an integral team. Ian is part of the chateau’s long history. ❤

Thank you Anna, yes I have continued for the last decade with my husband who was made redundant from his job just a month after Mum passed away - I’m sure she had something to do with it! 😅❤

I don't know what on earth I was expecting when I clicked on the video this evening, but it certainly wasn't the shock of learning that Ian had passed away; may he rest in eternal peace, we will miss seeing him in the vlogs. Sincere condolences to his family and all at LaLande. And then Phoebe, how awful, Amoury must be heartbroken, I can only imagine. Thank the stars that you all have each other for strength to get through such sad times. Love and light to you all.

When I heard about Ian I thought of the song with the words “It seems like the good they die young. I just turned around and he was gone.” Sorry for Amuary and his fur baby, they are family too❣️

With the terribly sad news of Ian's passing I felt the need to reach out to you all and to send my love and condolences... Ian will certainly be missed! Oh, I'm so very sorry for your loss! Plasterer Ian seemed like a lovely human, and fit right in with the entire LaLande community. The blue tower is a very fitting tribute to his impact on the chateau and your lives. (It's also a gorgeous colour! My favorite, actually.) So sorry to hear about Aumary's sweet pup. Losing a pet can be as heart-wrenching as losing a human family member. My condolences and hugs to all of you.

I am so very sad after this! Even though the dinner interlude was hilarious. I cannot believe that Ian is gone so quickly. It’s such sad distressing news. The plastering in the Marquis Salon is fabulous due to him!! The downstairs bathroom-and the tower glorious and he did so much more that we’ll remember him forever for. So kind and humble. Thank you for lighting a candle for him. And oh my goodness, Amaury! Everyone hug him. Losing your babies is so hard. I’m sitting with one in my lap as I watch this with tears dripping. My boy had surgery in August very unexpected and now I worry constantly about him. Wish there was something I could say to help. 😢

Dear Lovely LaLanders: we love you. We are here with you, in happy times & in sad. You don’t need to shield us from your sadness. Gather us with you in a hug from around the world. So sad, he seemed like a lovely man. I popped across the road to see my parents today and we learned that a cousin had died yesterday. I hadn't seen him for over forty years but that doesn't matter, he was family and it still hurts. RIP Cousin - Also called Ian.

I don’t usually comment but my heart goes out to all of those who loved Ian. I know that sooner or later everyone has to deal with loss, I’ve recently lost both my brother and my grandmother, and every time it happens a little piece of your heart goes with them. But I try to take comfort in believing that they’re all in a better place now looking down on us. I love that you’ve decided to paint the plastering Ian did in the tower blue, a beautiful gesture and colour that I’m shure will make everyone remember him with a smile on their faces ❤

I am so saddened to here of Ian's passing. From the first time I saw him on your vlog I was attracted to his lovely smile and sparkling eyes. He definitely had something special about him. I will most certainly be praying for Ian, his family, and all who are mourning his loss. May he rest in peace. 🙏❤😢

Condolences to Ian's family and all of Lalonde. He was a real treasure and will be greatly missed....his mark has been left on Lalonde to live forever! Love the colour of the turret....it is beautiful and hopefully Michael will enjoy and like it too!! Well done team!!

What a heartbreaking pair of back to back losses. Rest in power, dear Ian. It was easy to see how kind and loving a human you were because your eyes truly were the window to your soul. Prayers and love to your fiance family and friends. I also send my love and prayers to Amory and Natty. It’s so tough to lose a beloved fur baby companion and they had just been reunited. Much love and healing to all. This episode was gutting to watch. Good on you to focus on the painting of the tower. The blue was an uplifting sight, and Ian would approve. All my love from across the pond!
