Speaking of jail house chef, I was able to make beef jerky out of balogna they gave us for lunch and I would season it with ramen packets, I tied string in a grid pattern around a styrofoam tray and put the seasoned meat on the rack to dry and put a lid on top of it to keep the dust out. At first people werent into it because dried meat in a cell probably didnt seem too sanitary but once they got a taste I couldnt keep them away, Id sell a pack for 5$ worth of soups. I was swimming in soups by the end of my stay and when I knew I was getting out I handed out what I had left to the pod in hopes it would brighten the mood of everyone there even if it was just by a little bit. Dudes who didnt have commissary were so grateful, felt like a Jailhouse Santa Claus. lol

Yes. Reality, don't go to prison. The first 10 is a blur just staying alive every minute of every day. The next ten seem easier. The last 5 trying to make it clean to your first potential release date are as hard as the first 10... Just don't go kids. The smell of men under constant prison stress is unforgettable and unfavorable.

That dude that’s making candy has a KZfaq and social media stance. He has made over $500,000 I believe outside of prison while in prison! He has dudes managing his social media outside as well as his e-commerce. Inside prison, he sells candy etc. makes close to $85,000 a year I believe, in prison, legitimately on top of whatever he makes outside.

Seen and meet so many people in prison that were so talented. Mainly tattoo artist and people that could drawn. I meet few guys that would do portraits and make them look 3d. One old guy Harry I was good friends with. Would take pop sickly sticks headphone wire, q tips and the rub off if pens and build miniature motorcycles mainly Harley Davidsons. He even sent one to Harley Davidson and they sent him a bunch of Harley stickers to put on them. These things where 5-6 inches tall and 8-9 inches long so pretty big. They filled up a shoes box. That's what he mailed them out in. And Barbers seen/had some of the best hair cuts in prison. Most with a razor blade in a comb

Anyhow this dude was making laundry detergent by shaving down a bar of soap. So this guy made like this foot long line of soap shavings and shouted “I got 2 e-cigs for who ever snorts this line of soap!” My junkie jumped to the opportunity. I tried telling dude don’t do it! He did…I watched this man snort a foot long line of soap shaving for $24. Dude puked his guts up for like 2 days.

Are prisoners in the U.S. not given any options in regards to their meals? Here in the UK we are given a menu sheet to fill in (paper or electronic depending on prison) each week (in advance) there's different options & also halal, veg, healthy, kosher, options for you to choose from. Ok, it's not Michelin star quality but it is compared to American prisons food! "Kettle cooking" is also very popular here...... You get a kettle in your cell (to make hot drinks) but they're also used to make some nice food (canteen items) in them. 😊👍.

I've noticed that you don't even get tv's in cells, & you have to wear a uniform , up at the crack of dawn. Here we wear our own clothes, unlock at 8 am. Showers in cells (not all prisons, but I've been in a couple where we had our own showers, half decent food, ROTL's , etc. 👍.

Speaking off the inmates that put photos onto their cell floors and put the glaze over it. That brings back memories. I did 6 years in HMP Magilligan, Northern Ireland back in early 90s. We would get pages from glossed paper magazines with pictures we liked. Then using modelling varnish, coat the face of the page with about 6 layers of varnish. Letting each layer dry. Once dried on the reverse side you wet with water allowing the paper to soften and using a tooth brush slowly brush the paper off. This will leave the image within the varnished layer. The you varnish your tobacco tin and lay your artwork on the wet varnish. Once dried. You'll have a cool image.

We had tiffinies pizza delivered in a jail I was in, the guys brother worked there or something, it was a very small jail like 15 inmates, the COs said as long as they bring enough pizza to feed everyone they would let us, and we did, I returned the favor and bought enough coffee for everyone for a week, ya it wasn't prison, but you'd be suprised sometimes what inmates can get ahold of, shit I had a CO bring me in a dinner his wife cooked....so ya know, its mainly up to what the COs let slide..and what not
@goofydoofus-rp8hc
@goofydoofus-rp8hc 8 ай бұрын
@@J-Rad_moderndaypirate That's why it's important to be cool with the CO's, they used to bring in movies for us to watch. As a punishment at my county jail...If you disrespected the CO's enough to piss them off but were unallowed to send you to solitary. They made you eat slop for a WEEK, 3 times a day... It's basically all of the leftover scraps at the bottom of the pans (after cooking), all smashed together, then re-cooked. It comes out dark brown, about the size of a softball, burnt, dry, and barely edible. it's literally the least appetizing thing you'll ever see in your life, like someone just picked up some really dry cow shit from a farm somewhere, then just tossed it on your plate... BUT, officers can't get in trouble for it, because they technically are still feeding you. It did make people stay in line though. Pizza deliveries that's crazy. Very rare.

Some folks are too quick to assume this or that about all convicts, but the fact is that it's ALL types of individuals with various levels of intellect and practical skills who get locked up, and we continue to use our minds in ANY and EVERY situation we're put in. The saddest part is all the innocent people in jail. People that never committed offense against another or their property. Just corrupt government taking another life.

I was in Gloucester Prison uk 1999. Remand wing. I used to flush toilet water out then set my radio on the rim. Other inmates that had no radio, could empty the water from their toilets and be able to listen to radio. Prison is difficult enough without sitting in a cell without anything to occupy your mind. I did it to make things easier for new inmates that had nothing. This system of using the toilet for communication and passing contraband has been around for a long time.

Shout out Josh!!….. we from NOLA , sugar in the spaghetti is a must!!

Sugar in the gravy (spaghetti sauce) tames the acidity of the tomatoes/sauce. It’s no different than adding butter to hot sauce to make it more mild. People who get heartburn or oggida real fast from any acidic foods either stop eating them or find a way to make it bearable lol. Facts from an Italian heartburn sufferer/survivor! 👉😉👈 lol.

If you like to cook then know that putting a spoonfull of sugar in spaghetti sauce will reduce the acid from the tomatoes. But its a tbsp in a big pot.

Yup! My best friend was in Huntsville for 26 years, and he got really, really good at making leather stuff. So much so, they let him buy a leather sewing machine, and other tools. Of course, the CO's and other staff got first dibs...

The toilet mail service just screams hepatitis and heaven knows what else. A guy I worked with that was in prison told me he'd see inmates on trash duty pick out spit bottles guards had pitched to salvage the shreds of already dipped snuff to strain out and reuse.

I just want to say I enjoy watching your Channel. My stepfather “Abbie” Karas who raised me from the time I was 9 years old was the best thing that could have happened to this little Girl. He spent 30 + years of his life in prison. He started his time in his early 20s in Jackson state pen in Michigan, among others. When he got out he came to stay with us as a place to sleep for a while. Ended up marrying my Mother. He taught me so many things and never took advantage of me as a child, for that I want to say there are good men in prison, I’d asked questions about things, he was loud, and say Children should be seen and not heard!! He’d sit me down and make me memorize all my Multiplication tables until I knew them by heart. He was obnoxious like Archie Bunker, never loose lipped and understood the code, always the code, he lived by the code of never snitching. He always would say dont ever snitch!! And, don’t say a word to me about someone because of the their skin color or race, we’re all Gods children, I can get along with almost anyone except a snitch and liar. He had more friends than I could count. Always giving, even taught me to give the garbage man a cold drink or soda on a hot day. My kids will forever miss Grampa Abbie, my no# 1 memory is him making me say Good morning, every morning with a smile on my face, if I forgot, his hand would be next to his ear….I can’t hear you!!!! In the most annoying tone! Then he would say this is the day the lord has made let us rejoice and be glad!!! At the time I hated him for it but how much now I appreciate and cherish his irritating ways so long ago. He died in 2016 and I kept his ashes with me for a few years, I recently put him to rest in Detroit his old stomping ground. He would be turning 90 this year. It’s never too late to make a difference in the life of a child, the impact touches more lives than anyone can imagine.
