You should visit the belgian workshop that outfits allmost all the team cars in the peloton with the roof racks. They also do truck and van interiors. So much stuff comes from them. Roof racks chantal. Also the wheel racks on show here come from there.

I have a compressor in my garage, with the hose reel mounted to the ceiling, and a coil hose hanging down by my workstand. They really are a useful tool to have, seating tubeless tires, inflating tires, drying chains, removing slide on grips on MTB and BMX etc... It's also quite handy to power my nail guns!

Not bragging, but i taught art to, and coached mountain biking for one young student here in canada, and he so fell in love with cycling that he went out to Oregon to learn how to be a frame builder. Then he went to Europe to lead bike tours and now he's the top mechanic for Israel Premier Tech... I'm more proud of him than almost any other student i ever taught. His parents are wonderful people. Go Derek Gee !

How about a tour inside TotalEnergies truck? I'm curious how many bikes they have 😅 (note: I'm joking about it, but that theft was terrible. People need to keep their hands off things that aren't theirs. Maybe all trucks should have surveillance systems on the out- and inside.)

#askgcntech bike fit question: I tend to fall right in between 2 sizes of bikes. When ever I have test rode a bike I usually feel most comfortable on the larger bike with minimal adjustments while test riding at the LBS so that tends to be the one that I buy. However I always end up running a very short stem and pulling the seat all the way forward. Consequently this tends to limit bar and stem choices. I’ve recently been wondering would it be better to go with a shorter bike and run a really long stem and offset seat post? I worry that with this option it may close up my hip angle and cause other issues and now I have a $10,000 bike I won’t ride. Thanks in advance.

Hi, anyone can tell me who makes (or where can I buy) the wall mounted arms that hold the wheels. I saw the same arms on the Lotto-Dstny and EF bus videos. If at least three teams are using them, must be good enough to have them installed in my garage. Thank you!

Is a 1.5HP air compressor enough to seat a tubeless tire? Out of curiosity I looked up air compressor and the cheapest one at my local hardware store is 1.5HP. I have no idea if that is strong or not. Shockingly, my track pump with the air blaster canister thingy cost more 😂

I can inflate my GP5000 S TR tires with a normal 30 Euro track pump, so I can imagine that any compressor can do the job...
@ff2e
@ff2e Ай бұрын
A smaller compressor should be perfectly suitable for seating a tubeless bike tire as long as its filling up a tank and isn't just a direct pump.
@paulgrimshaw8334
@paulgrimshaw8334 Ай бұрын
A 1.5 hp compressor would be easily enough. Keep in mind that the compressor fills a large volume tank to at least 135 psi. Easily enough to rapidly fill a tire and seat the bead on any bike tire. What Ollie shows, however, isn’t a compressor. It’s just the hose reel. The compressor and volume tank is probably hidden away in one of the side storage bins, powered by the bus generator (which will be of a considerable size because it will be driving aircon (10-20A), lighting (1A), a coffeemaker (5A), and charging stations for bike computers and shifters (10A). I have a medium sized compressor (2 hp with a 30 gallon volume tank) working at 120v @15A. It can deliver a continuous 5.7 cu ft/min at 90 psi just on the compressor alone. With the volume tank filled, I could inflate a tire, seat the bead and blow the tire into orbit if I used it without regulation. And I could keep doing that continuously as fast as I could remove the chuck and get another wheel. So 1.5 hp is easily enough. A proper oil lubricated compressor sure is nice to have but an oil less compressor will work just fine for small volume task like filling bike and motorcycle tires. But I’m a tube guy, so a floor pump is sufficient for my biking needs.
@chrisridesbicycles
@chrisridesbicycles Ай бұрын
Way good enough to do the job. It‘s more important to get a good seal around the valve which can be tricky with the adapters and the Schrader tire filler designed for cars.

@johnwestwell2241 Ай бұрын
As Ollie says, AG2R don’t ride tubeless, so they don’t need to seat their tyres. But other teams have a similar set up which do ride tubeless.

Loved the video. I have a few questions if you don't mind. Do you look at your garmin VO2 calculation and how does it compare it these lab results? I use the garmin number to track changes and was trying to see if I should put any value in the absolute number. Are you seeing your VO2 decrease at altitude and increasing at sea level and how long does it take to change? The reason I'm asking is that I use my Garmin to track VO2 improvement as a way to track fitness changes. I live at altitude (about 1,000 higher than Boulder) and when I go to sea level and train for 5 or 6 days, my VO2 increases about 3 pts and then returns to where it was when I go back to altitude after about a week. After a recent trip to sea level, I got the 3 pt bump going from 66 to 69 (take that with a grain of salt) and when I returned to altitude it dropped 1 pt but has held steady at 68 for 5 weeks now. I'm not sure how to interpret that improvement. I should really get tested in lab, but wanted to see what I can learn from my watch.
