Decision behind SASSA changing grant payment dates

4 жыл бұрынThe South African Social Security Agency has confirmed it has changed the dates of the social grant payments to protect the vulnerable.
Older citizens will be able to collect their social grants on the 4th of May.
People living with disabilities will receive social grants, on the 6th.
According to SASSA this decision was made in a bid to avoid chaos at pay points and to maintain social distancing.
Earlier on the show, the CEO of SASSA Busisiwe Memela had this to say.

The 4th and the 6th is too far people are hungry the depend on that money to buy food.

This is a disgrace. The reason there was chaos last month is because the information did not reach many people giving one week before they tell anyone like they are doing now. Once again the pensioners and other suffer from their incompetence. Their pensions are small and they run out of food before the end of the month.
